I miss this place - was an awesome company

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsFabulous benefits - and a great company. Lots of wonderful coworkers and we really got a lot done.

    Was given lots of opportunities

ConsNo longer exists - and the that is really a shame. I think all of the former employees really know how good we had it - and really miss it.

    Great benefits, but top heavy.

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsGreat benefits and a good work/life balance.

ConsGrowth opportunities were limited and at times discouraged.

Advice to Senior ManagementDevelopment should be encouraged more. Also, more responsibility should be entrusted in associates when appropriate.

I learned and grew in my professional development and enjoyed the relationships that I developed

Analytical Supervisor (Current Employee) West Chester, PA

ProsThe company was still growing so there was still a close relationship with management and employees.
The benefits were great and the salaries were in line with top companies

ConsAs the company grew there was a noticeable change in the management style to that of a big company environment.

Advice to Senior ManagementThe company was sold but as the company was growing a lot of the older employees noticed the change in relations with upper management. When company was young the relations were very open and close but grew more distant once we expanded. Keep the open door policies as we grow.

Best company i've ever worked for

    Manager (Former Employee) Frazer, PA

ProsThe vision and mission of this company was beyond anything I could have experienced. The people made this place amazing, namely the CEO who sadly passed in Dec. 2010, and the company aquired shortly thereafter. It's never been the same since.

ConsIt's been aquired by Teva Pharm

Constrainers and management were a joke

    Great place, but changes happening

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) West Chester, PA

    ProsFantastic benefits and pay
    Good, friendly coworkers
Job growth opportunities (~every 2 years)
    Flexible hours and summer hours!
    Diverse pipeline

ConsNow owned by different company (Teva), and the changes are negatively impacting morale of management (concerned for job safety) and day-to-day workers.
Limited guidance from management on how to obtain growth (it seems randomly given every 2-3 years though).
Entire research department was let go when Teva acquired Cephalon.
More open information on various products in pipeline.

Advice to Senior ManagementBe more open and honest with employees about future and pipeline. Typically years of effort go in and without detailed results on clinical trials, we are told that the project is dead.

Extremely little ability to make an impact - no information descended from C-Suite.

    Manager (Former Employee) Frazer, PA

ProsYou don't have to work hard here to survive. It's essentially a game of hiding for the low performers, however no one stands out at this place.

ConsMany people got laid off seemingly at random. Also, many smart, talented employees were bored to tears given that they weren't engaged.

Advice to Senior ManagementEngage employees at all-levels. Many talented employees leave voluntarily because they are underutilized and bored. There wasn't a coherent talent development strategy. It was more clear that the goal was to leverage assets for acquisition by another company - rather than develop them.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
