    Pros

Not hard work. Pay is ok.

    Cons

Job is boring. I would like to have more responsibility.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Try to get more business.

Current Employee - Mill Worker  in  Portland, OR
Current Employee - Mill Worker in Portland, OR

    Pros

We have a good health plan, but that's only because we're union. We have a union pension also, but it's not the best in the world.

    Cons

Not enough business, which is kind of weird considering we're the only flour mill in Portland. Plant management has an "us vs. them" attitude when dealing with mill workers. They'll make mistakes in running the mill and then blame it on the hourly workers. Plant management hides a lot of things from corporate management because there's basically no oversite.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Corporate management needs to supervise their people that run the mill a little more.

Current Employee - Millman in Ogden, UT

    Pros

The benefits are awesome, but mostly because the union had to fight long and hard for them, and thats only the insurance. The retirement plan sucks.

    Cons

Incompetent management, that treats you as an inferior human being. And basically tell you that you should praise them for having a job, and readjust your life to work around your work schedule.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You all need to go work at other successful companies, and see how the management treats their employees to obtain a level of unity and brotherly companionship among the employees.
