Pros
Majority of the people within LifeWorks are great! The participants we help make the work really rewarding. Dedicated "Employee Committee" who works hard to make employee events at work fun. Work life balance is usually supported.
Cons
Senior management within LifeWorks operates in a silo. There is little support from the team because they are busy micromanaging, barking orders, working from home or in their offices with shut doors and closed blinds. This team operates very unprofessionally and treats professionals with no respect. Sadly, you enter a place where you help people who are in need, but you leave needing help yourself! Communication is very minimal. Input is not valued. HR representation has been absent for a long time, and it’s much needed. Salary is not competitive. Annual merit increases are insulting or not given. Recognition is not given when deserved.
Advice to Senior Management
Analysis of senior management team within LifeWorks. Take a look at exit interview data and identify consistencies to see why so many are leaving. Reward and recognize top performers. Treat professionals like professionals. Respect goes a long way.
Pros
Benefit package
Vacation time is decent
Cons
Too many managers, senior managers, mid level managers, low level managers.
Outsourcing 64% of jobs overseas.
No longer any respect for the employees.
HR supports the management and not the employees, nowhere for the employees to voice their concerns.
Advice to Senior Management
The employees deserve to be treated with respect and dignity, not treated as if they are second class humans.
Pros
The People are great!
Work has a purpose and is really rewarding.
Worklife balance
Cons
Zero senior management support. Lack of senior management presence and face time when needed. When senior management actually does come to MN, they stay behind closed doors and spend no time with staff.
Favoritism is BIG! Incompetent managers who were promoted not because of experience or qualifications. The senior management "sorority" favors its members.
Poor communication from senior management team. Input is not solicited or valued. Orders are barked.
Training department is very low functioning. Training leadership creates reasons to attempt to show value instead of dealing with real issues at hand.
Lack of HR support. High turnover is ignored. Repeated concerns are never addressed.
Advice to Senior Management
Leadership outside of LifeWorks needs to get involved and notice what is going on within the business unit. Hold leadership accountable for what is not working and listen to and value imput from staff. DO NOT allow senior management to be present in employee roundtables. People are not candid when VPs are in the room!
Recognize and reward top performers and notice a pattern when they are leaving the company!
Give face time to employees!
Pros
Vacation time (time given for new hires has decreased)
The people!
The work we do is rewarding
Cons
Senior management within LifeWorks is unprofessional, unapproachable, unaccountable and absent. The group is nicknamed "the sorority" for a reason. Favoritism is used for promotions and selections for project/team leads. Skilled professionals are treated like children by being micromanaged and spoke to inappropriately. High performers are running for the hills, there is a line at the door and the leadership team and Human Resources have neglected to notice the pattern. Technology and tools to get the job done are very low end and old. Vacation time is lost completely if not used. Salary is not competitive.
Advice to Senior Management
Value, recognize and reward top performers.
Be present! Come into the office. Open your doors & blinds & talk to employees! Participate in events.
Take ownership of mistakes instead of pushing them off on your staff when you made the decision.
Pros
Enjoy the people and the mission of MOS
Cons
Communication between the larger sites and departments.
Advice to Senior Management
Confusing HR processes, constantly refered to on line self services which is not intuitive.
Pros
Competitive Salary and great benefits.
Flexible Schedule, allowed to take time off when needed.
Excellent leadership
Great team of professionals
Excellent EAP program
Cons
Little room for advancement
Virtual employees have little access to career advancement
Advice to Senior Management
Help virtual employees grow within the organization, help them develop a career plan.
Pros
Benefits, time off is given up front from day one. The builidngs and grounds are kept up, easy access to the highway. The company is global.
Cons
High turnover of CEO & CFO (about every 3-5 years) with focus on profits to make their own bonuses which has a reverse correlaton to employee morale, raises, and bonuses. Salaried employees are treated like hourly in respect to time card/pay. Cubicle space is small and not ergonomic.
Advice to Senior Management
Focus on customer service by making your employee your customer as well. Help employees understand how embracing changes in the company and its polices directly benefits the employee through bonuses, raises, etc.
Pros
* Wonderful Benefits
* Great Place to get your foot in the door
* Great cross training
Cons
* Employee morale is non-existent
* Job security (Outsourcing)
* Job performance is based on quantity and not quality
* Internal departments disjointed (right hand does not know what the left is doing)
* Limited career advancement
* Promotions based on who you know, not what you know
* Individuals being treated like children instead of adults
* Poor middle management
Advice to Senior Management
* Do a better job in enabling staff to succeed (i.e. help with career advancement)
* Focus more on the quality
* Understand more about your organization prior to selling to new clients or pushing additional services...do a better job a fixing the organization from the bottom up instead of from the top to the bottom.
Pros
flexibility
good people
opportunity to train (on your own, not offered)
Cons
work environment
Communication from senior management
career guidance and/or management
Advice to Senior Management
improve stability and morale
Pros

Cons

Advice to Senior Management
Don't lose contracts
