Pros
Company name recognition
Employees (co-workers) make it all worthwhile
Cons
This is definitely a sweat shop for those that have skills and want to work. However there are a number of employees who do nothing and are allowed to skate.
Advice to Senior Management
Clean up the mid-level and senior management ranks...they are the worst in the industry. However there are a few that actually know what they are doing and treat employees well but they are far and few between
Pros
Ceridian has Great Benefits
Ceridian has Good Salary
Ceridian has Great People
Ceridian has Good Values
Ceridian has Great Recognition Programs
Cons
Ceridian does not have a bonus program
Pros
Benefits are excellent, work life balance is good, ability to infuse creativity and lead initiatives is there for the ambitious and driven employee.
Cons
Compensation is not as robust as it could be and seriously impacts the quality of talent that makes it through the door.
Advice to Senior Management
Continue to look at ways to innovate and bring differentiation to our clients. Ceridian employees have always been a powerhouse of creativity and will stop at nothing to ensure the customer experience is the top priority. Harness this energy and good things will happen.
Pros
Co-workers are nice for the most part
Work life balance is decent
Generous paid time off
Cons
Departments work in silo
Many people are just pushing papers
Raises are a joke
Bonuses dimininshed
Benefits get worse every year
Very unstable in my opinion
Employee morale is way down
Advice to Senior Management
Go back to the old ways of caring about employees and their satisfaction.
Outsourcing is not always the answer, especially in a service industry.
Pros
Great front line employees. Employees are engaged.
Cons
Poor senior management . Executive team cannot run the business effectively which lead to failure.
Advice to Senior Management
HRO was run into the ground by poor executive management decisions. Many employees were laid off while the senior management stayed intact. Employees are leaving like rats leaving the titanic. Revamp the executive team that is ultimately responsible for the business filing.
Pros
bonuses
profit sharing
benefits package is great
Cons
butt kissers move up the ladder
abuse taken from customers
system issues are never fixed
Advice to Senior Management
think out changes before implementing them
Pros
Good location, easy to get to. Good place to gain experience and get to know the payroll industry. Perfect for entry level or someone looking to learn the software and processes and HR in general.
Cons
Constant battle between Winipeg head office staff and Toronto based staff. Seems to be to much of a who you know and not how good you are place. Lots of long term employee's that spend more time doing office politic games than helping the company work to become better. Seems if you are talented and do a great job you leave. If your into backstabing and office politics as a job this is the place for you.
Its amazing how many people in Ceridian have been in the same job/position for over 10 years in some cases over 15.
Advice to Senior Management
Invest in people that say yes and improve things rather than people that spend time taking credit for others ideas and spend more time thinking about excuses and pointing fingers rather than pushing the envolope. It clear that Ceridian excels in loosing its best and brightest and keeps people that have been in the same position for over 10 years...
Pros
Great benefits
Chance for advancement
Good people
Location was good
Cons
Very reactive
Always changing the direction midstream
many layoffs
Advice to Senior Management
Pick a direction/focus and stick with it until complete, you're wasting a LOT of time.
Pros
Co-workers -One of the most cohesive groups I've met, but probably only because we're int he same boat, fighting the same battles.
Cons
Sr. Management hasn't got a clue how to run a company
Work/life balance is non-existent
HR team is the worst I've seen at being proponents of the employees
Middle management is ineffective - Many have never done the job. Hard to understand how they got to where they are
No room for growth
Internal measurement criteria are a joke
Advice to Senior Management
Get a clue about how to turn this company around. Get rid of all the GE people who are stuck in middle and senior management positions and focus on bringing in people who listen to their employees and fight for them. Your turnover rate is a critical sign that people are not happy. Finding a way to keep your employees happy is half the battle.
Pros
PDO--4 weeks
People around me we good
Cons
Measurements are stupid
Not given tools to meet client expectations and needs
Management turnover and lack of interest in employees
We might do Employee Assistance Programs for others, but DO NOT do it for our own
Advice to Senior Management
Take an interest in your people. Don't deliver a message at the Global Overview that says "Do more, it all depends on you." And then let senior management get away with the message "It's my way or the highway"
