very political, much favoritism, not all employees treated equally.

    Advice to Management

Should have not bent to P.B.'s will. Company was profitable and provided many well paying jobs. Company could have been a force to recon with provided stronger leadership and aggressive store aqusition.

    Pros

Stability in income level is a given. Directions and policies for tasks are constantly given to the employee. Long term job, if that is in fact what you are looking for. No surprises as far as new routine work schedules, no new tasks, responsibilities, basically the same work on a day to day basis for years and years. Little or no micro managing, there is a variance depending upon the department. Management does not give negative comments to employees. Personal life is given a high level of imp. on a general basis, nothing too excessive.

    Cons

The communiction between employees, managers, upper management, departments, etc. overall very poor. Any and all communication ever given to me was a few weeks late or by a non management level employees. The possitive feedback is not given or credited at all. Senior management is given all priority leaving hands on experience irrelevant when it comes to range of salary. There is no room for growth as an individual, the position hired for is the position fired from. New ideas and policies are not welcomed by management, questioning the current policies is also not encouraged. Overall many of my co-workers were seeking a company to retire from.

    Advice to Management

Give recognition to the employees putting in the effort and time on a daily basis, senior employees should be treated as equals and not given priority simply for making an appearance daily. Open the lines of communication between departments, managers, employees, and a reminder of the concept of a company is to produce and as a result progress as a unit. Individual success is a team failure if not credited properly. Find the connection to the essential goal, then the inspiration for a better company will flow.
