    A company focused on growth.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

    ProsFriendly work environment and community.

ConsEmployees are not the companies most important asset. They tend to hire from outside, so growth is difficult.

Advice to Senior ManagementHire from within.

    Clueless Management

Analyst (Former Employee) Saint Cloud, MN

ProsEmployees are friendly and work hard.

ConsWorkflow is inconsistent between departments, some departments have no work while others are overwhelmed with work.

Advice to Senior ManagementSmooth the workflow between departments better.

Good learning experience for entry level

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsPeople working with you are great and you will learn to work in a team environment

ConsNot all people working there will give 100% and others will have to pick up their slack. Also, the training is poor and needs to be improved for both new and current employees.

Advice to Senior ManagementHire quality people and provide quality training from the beginning

    Employees are lowest priority

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) El Segundo, CA

ProsYou can wear jeans to work.

ConsThe Executive Team, whose office line a wall referred to as "the wall of shame", overwork staff to the point of insanity. They have no clue how to prioritize, stick to strategy, and primarily, invest in employees. They lip service values and culture with ZERO action. It's all another job for employees to pile on. Every decision is by committee vote and one voice of dissent and you start all over.

Advice to Senior ManagementInvest in employees, pull back on project loads, and stick to a plan. No one is in charge since every decision is by committee.

    Way Understaffed, Stressful Environment

Operations Representative (Former Employee) Schaumburg, IL

ProsEmployees care about each other, treat each other like family.

ConsBeing understaffed is the biggest issue. When our company was acquired by Cetera, they laid off a lot of people and then expected the remaining employees to pick up their work without any change in compensation. In fact, many benefits were scaled back or eliminated. Employees who were working toward degrees, for example, instantly lost their tuition assistance.

Advice to Senior ManagementIf you care about your employees and the service your advisors are getting, invest in your employees by providing the resources necessary to get the job done well.

    Not too bad

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) El Segundo, CA

ProsHealth insurance, paid leave and other benefits are very generous compared industry norms. Management communicates with employees very well, not an overly secretive company. Company does give plenty of flexibility for people to do their job well, without too much micromanaging. Annual bonuses and generous 401k match.

ConsMuch of the company spending is focused on high level executives and IT. Lack of growth opportunities for lower-level workers. People tend to stay in their same jobs for years and years. Training is a bit disorganized for new workers. Pay tends to be below the average market point.

Advice to Senior ManagementProvide better growth opportunities for workers. Set up more formalized training programs. More rotation in duties. Investment more money in low-level operational support rather than bringing in so many executives.

    Managers drunk at the wheel

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) El Segundo, CA

ProsVacation and benefits cannot be matched

ConsSurrounded by idiots who have no idea how to do any job

Advice to Senior ManagementHire smart people who will challenge you not your friends or family that confirm your views.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
