Very slow to get things accomplished

I have been working at Challenge Unlimited full-time

    Pros

Give employment opportunities for people who may never be deemed employable in the competitive market.

    Cons

Lack of leadership at the top. No structure or no clear direction. The company is ran by 3 executives. One should be retiring. One has business acumen and capable of turning things around. One doesn't have a clue. They only pay the people at the top and give low wages to everybody else. Very unorganized.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get all your managers, especially senior managers on one accord. I am tired of wasting my time doing things because your managers are not empowered, trusted, or skilled enough to make a decision. Then you come and change it and not even understand what we even do. You are hurting the clients.

    Pros

Alot of O.T., Great Employer initially, get to work outside. They present themselves as a company, connected with those with disabilites.

    Cons

Management climate has gone unresponsive, Lacking effectiveness. Abusive staff member..... has NO anger management skills, No leadership qualities. Allowed to run amok with intimidation practises of the hispanic community as well as those with disabilities. Sets priorities based on creating stressful climate. All the o.t. can`t buy serenity.

BAD BAD MISTAKE TRUSTING THEM WITH KNOWLEDGE OF OUR DISABILITIES.
Sexual Harrasser still in workplace ? WoW

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Throw out the wasted management/sups /Bad spray tech

    Cons

some members of management have conflicting goals.

I have been working at Challenge Unlimited part-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

not many except maybe that the bottom line workers tend to be very decent ppl that get stepped on by this company

    Cons

i could be here for hours speaking from five wasted years this company has a tendency of hiring ppl that are desperate for work so they will agree to anything then they slap a label on the saying they are disabled when they are not then they put them in a "training Program" where the only difference between them and normal workers is they now have had all there worker rights stripped away the only training that really happens is for the first 3 day then you work just like any other job making money for the company with the added bonus that you are then treated like less then human and then the company receive government checks for providing you with services it is despicable business ethics and there treatment of people like a disposable commodity is disgusting

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

there is nothing you could ever do to make yourself decent again but you could start by hiring ppl with real disabilities and stop taking advantage of the poor oh and try promoting ppl other then your drinking buddies

I worked at Challenge Unlimited full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Making a positive difference in the lives of people with disabilities.
A lot of vacation and sick time.

    Cons

Social Service agency that is top heavy with over paid senior managers while the majority of the employees can barely pay their bills.
Very negative culture that allows for harassment.
Senior managers appear to be unethical and hold middle managers responsible for everything.
Does not promote a team work environment. Managers tend to seek and destroy employees rather than support and retain employees.
Tends to not promote from within the company.
Don't expect a bonus if you are not a manager.
You will never have enough time to get all of your work done because you will be expected to juggle other unfilled positions at the same time for no extra compensation.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop letting well trained good employees walk out of your door.
You preach about being positive but are the catalyst for the negativity in the company.
When employees continually leave, they are not the problem, the company is, or they would stay.
