Advice to Senior Management – Don't forget the front line earns the dollars.

I have been working at Chamberlin Edmonds full-time for less than a year
Pros – Good pay, great co-workers, you travel for training, you get all your benefits on day1 of employment (no 90 day waiting period)
Cons – The upper level Management are all "friends", if you were hired from the outside you are belittled, talked down to, the cause of every problem and at the end you are let go just the way they all planned it. I was treated unfair and unable to turn to anyone for help including HR.
Advice to Senior Management – You should learn the real definition of Ethic before you begin to preach aobut it!

I have been working at Chamberlin Edmonds full-time for more than a year
Pros – Great Boss, mostly great co-workers, complete freedom to do work your own way. Learning new things every day.
Cons – No training. Staff and patients of hospitals can be rude and horrible. Your support center causes more problems then it solves. Culture of lying to agencies. Being forced to work 12 or more hours without extra compensation. Not enough employees. Long hours. Low pay.
Advice to Senior Management – Train us or else don't complain when your profits and numbers plummet. I should not be forced to do the work of seven employees because they either refuse or don't know how to do their work. I shouldn't have to come in at 8am and stay till 8pm just to get all those apps you require in order for me to keep my job.

I have been working at Chamberlin Edmonds
Pros – Excellent opportunities for advancement. Company believes in "promoting from within". The work done by the company overall is very meaningful, purpose driven and advantageous for the community. There are many companies that do the same type of work, but not as well as Chamberlin Edmonds. This company has set the benchmark for operating standards. A really great place to work!
Cons – The Time Off Policy is terrible. It was changed due to employees taking advantage. However, now occurences are given for any and all infractions including "Sick Time". Paid Time Off is accured. If you accrue your time, why are you penalized for taking it when legitimately sick?
Advice to Senior Management – Do not give occurences for employees that provide a doctor's statement when returning from sick time off or allow sick time occurences to drop off after 90 days instead the current six month policy.

I worked at Chamberlin Edmonds
Pros – Love the work and high energy of the work and job. Love the majority of the co-workers. Love helping others and especially the needed and children.
Cons – Worst management style I have ever seen. HR is the worst. No support from management or co-workers. Little team playing.
Advice to Senior Management – You need to completely get rid of your HR. They are no good and very deceptive. You need to have team / ompany activityies that may bring people together.

I worked at Chamberlin Edmonds
Pros – Job security is definitely high, and they're always expanding. If you work hard and stay out of drama, you can do well there.
Cons – The environment is very serious, and there is hardly any "down time" while on the clock. It's hard to feel confident in your work.
Advice to Senior Management – You're doing a good job trying to keep up with the growth and work load for as fast as it's happening.

I have been working at Chamberlin Edmonds
Pros – For ninety to ninety-five percent of the people or clients we help, I and many others feel relieve and joy for those that receive the needed and deserved benefits we are able to help them obtain through Medicaid and SSI. The majority of the employees in the Atlanta office are wonderful, hard working and caring people. There are some very competent, smart and great people in the company. For those who enjoy social type work or nursing / medical background, it is a great opportunity to see another side of government and medical sector.
Cons – The management and the VP level personnel are not the most supportive. They are a very detached management level type of company. I have seen a lot of very unfair and unearned and prejudice behavior in many departments. Many people have been promoted when they deserved more to get fired.
Advice to Senior Management – Wake up and communicate better and more honestly with everyone company wide equally across the board with all employees. Your employees are some of the best out there and they deserve honest and equal, fair treatment.

I worked at Chamberlin Edmonds
Pros – great job to help patients
good benefit package
great corporate culture in main office
trainers really do want to help
Cons – training inadequate (has been shortened from 3 weeks to 1.5 weeks) to learn complex Federal and State programs
expected to work long hours if needed
poor management at some facilities
upper management not aware of issues at individual facilities
disconnect between meeting monthly goals and assisting patients
difficult to move up within company
Advice to Senior Management – Upper level management should make unannounced visits at local facilities to truly understand what is happening day to day from facility to facility. Open communication between front line employees and upper level managers should be encouraged and initiated.

I worked at Chamberlin Edmonds
Pros – Feels good to help others get health insurance
Decent (but not great) benefits and compensation
Solid relationship with some big, stable hospitals (such as the University of Virginia Medical Center)
Cons – Lots of pressure to see and process multiple new patients claims every day
Poor training program -- in particular, training for the insurance side of the business (Medicaid and Social Security Disability) is inadequate
Advice to Senior Management – Improve training program, especially for insurance programs
Implement process improvement for claim management -- communication is often haphazard among health care representatives and their managers
Lower pressure to process so many claims -- it creates backlogs and impairs performance

I worked at Chamberlin Edmonds
Pros – Location is the only thing this place has going for it
Cons – Upper management looks down on "regular" employees. They only interact and come to the "regular" floor when something was done wrong
Advice to Senior Management – Life is bigger than Chamberlin Edmonds. You never know who's path you'll cross and for what reason. Be careful who you look down on.
