I worked at Champlain Enterprises full-time

    Pros

Lots of flying available and a good place to start. That's about it unfortunately.

    Cons

I've flew more maintenance flights then actual revenue flights and been extended into my off days almost every time I work. Maintenance base is in a out station and there's low moral all through the company. I can't wait to leave this place for something better.

    Advice to Management

There's not much really management can do because they know how bad things are and yet they doing nothing about it. The aircrafts are always broken and management expects you to fly these planes to Albany, NY and remain there until they're fix. But management again doesn't care.

I worked at Champlain Enterprises full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Will hire pretty much anyone, awesome co-workers, decent jumpseat agreements, ability to move up in seniority fairly quickly due mostly to company terminations.

    Cons

Very low pay, long hours, in-flight is more so against you than or you, favoritism, horrible destinations, short overnights, dirty turboprops, expect a mechanical delay every single work day, naps/stand-ups, no commuter clause, you are responsible for grooming your plane and ordering and sorting commissary, quick to terminate, company will never grow or advance.

    Advice to Management

Have compassion and show appreciation for your overworked and underpaid FA's.

I have been working at Champlain Enterprises full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The mechanics I worked with, freedom to work larger jobs

    Cons

management, bad hours, seniority does nothing for you,and management

    Advice to Management

lose the buddies of the bar system, The D.O.M. owns a bar and if you drink there you are part of the gang that gets special treatment. Be upfront and honest to mechanics. Maintenance manager with DUI's needs to go,grumpy and worst offender of pressuring young mechanics to sign off unairworthy aircraft.

I have been working at Champlain Enterprises full-time

    Pros

    Ok benefits, some cool co-workers

    Cons

Very low pay, long hours, low quality uniforms (buttons keep popping off), no career advancement, we have to groom the planes by ourselves (although sometimes pilots will help you).

    Pros

Small company with a family like atmosphere. Decent flight benefits. Health care benefits start within 3 months instead of six.

    Cons

Low pay and tough schedules. Senority can be slow moving for the flight attendants and pilots. There is a high turnover in mamagement positions making it difficult to know who is in charge and who to contact in particular situations.

    Advice to Management

Communication is a two way street. The hierarchy of boss versus employee is well understood concept. Listen to your employees and respect their opinions you just might learn something!

    Recommends

    Pros

Relaxed dress code including shorts and blue jeans and fairly relaxed company. Travel benefits on continental airlines, and standard health benefits.

    Cons

Company is last on Continental"s standby list. Small airline with little or no growth.

    Advice to Management

    Get funding for more planes!
