I have been working at Chandler Chicco full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Some respect for work life balance

    Cons

    Pay well below standards
Juvenile culture of favoritism that benefits only the "in" clique
Poorly managed: leadership works hard to be secretive
No clear career path or progression
    Laughable professional development opportunities
Promotions are rare and generally unaccompanied by an increase in pay to go along with added responsibilities

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Ask your staff for feedback and consider taking it. Reduce the number of mandatory "fun" activities that disrupt workflow. Try actually managing people instead of just making a show of being a boss so that you can enforce your sense of hierarchy.

    Pros

Co-workers are great; everyone is very hard working and supportive; sense of friendship vs. just coworkers. Lots of vacation time, but you feel guilty takign it.

    Cons

Long hours, if you're starting from the bottom up you're not compensated for the dedication and hours you put in.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Take care of your people.

I have been working at Chandler Chicco full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Overall, great group of people who support each other in the work; challenging work and smart staff who go the extra mile for the client, come up with innovate programs and execute them really well.

    Cons

People in charge often convey the feeling that there is only one way to accomplish something, leaving junior people to feel "why bother" when ideas get shut down. Need to be tough enough to make your own way and figure out the loose structure and particular culture, or you'll be lost.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Everything doesn't have to be done in one way, or your way. If you want employees who take risks and bring forth ideas, et people make decisions and run with them more often.

I worked at Chandler Chicco full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

When I worked there I had the pleasure of working with some of the smartest PR professionals in the industry. Also, people really cared about the work and exceeding client expectations.

    Cons

The culture is not for everybody. Not having job titles can cause confusion about expectations. The open office environment can be distracting.

I have been working at Chandler Chicco

    Pros

Paid lunch, culture teams give away prizes, parties and free massages.

    Cons

There’s a reason they have a culture team. The culture is a façade. Forget having a family, expect to stay overtime not only for work, but for frequent culture activities. Culture activities are mandatory for new employees. Most that begin after normal work hours or during work and are time invasive and interfere with work. Look for the red flags as signs to get out of this job. #1.People get sick from stress here. #2. People brag about having to work very late or very early hours. #3. Managers either not showing up to work, or giving lame excuses for not showing up to work and meetings. #4. Managers and mentors expecting communication and responsiveness, but not returning to answer any questions employees have.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Advice to mangers: You create the climate of the office. Show your employees you respect their time as much as they do yours. The longer you put off or push meetings, the longer it takes things to get done. So in essence, YOU are costing the company money. You can start by showing up on time like your employees. Putting down the smart phones at meetings. Respectfully respond to emails in a timely manner; and actually read them before you call with questions. If you email back a single "Y" or "Yes," that doesn't answer the question. To some degree, you are a communication major correct? This is public relations correct? Communicate respect to you immediate public, your employees, and you will get it back. Understand your employees have lives outside the office. For God’s sake, don’t keep clients that abuse your employees emailing or calling them at all hours. Enough with the fear mongering too, that is SO 2001.

    Pros

Flat structure, entrepreneurial culture, free lunch every day, great office, learn a lot

    Cons

Flat structure, dysfunctional and secretive management team, all based on how long you have been at the company, obnoxious arrogant colleagues. There are 3 leaders for the new york office who never talk to each other and suck as leaders. There is no communication about the direction, we just did whatever had to be done that day.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Walk the walk..., but you are not leaders and your style of management is so chinese communist style of management

    Pros

CCA has intelligent people, hardworking people. The leadership at CCA provides mentorship and professional growth opportunities. The CCA culture is unique and rewarding.

    Cons

The work can be challenging and demanding, making the work environment stressful at times. However, the team collaboration from senior level to junior level employees helps to alleviate this issue.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

CCA management should compensate hard, successful and valuable workers as appropriate to avoid turnover and reinforce a positive work environment.

    I worked at Chandler Chicco

    Pros

Good benefits, no-walls policy, good opportunities to get involved with different industries in the D.C. and New York City area.

    Cons

Some management issues, definitely some work/life balance issues as well. Although they are on the right track, perhaps it's just a growing process.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay more attention to individual employees, make more mentoring programs and encourage more work and life balance throughout the company.
