    Pros

Great team environment Motivating team to reach goals Close relationship with District Manager Responsible for recruiting key people to drive sales

    Cons

High turnaround of employees Working most weekends Lifting of heavy boxes and fixtures Repetitive tasks that make the day go by slowly

    Advice to Management

Management actually did as best as they could with the constraints that were placed by corporate. Regional management would visit store level at least once, maybe twice a year.

    Pros

Great work life balance, good benefits, summer hours are a great incentive. Salary is on target with with other retailers.

    Cons

Not much room for growth. Systems need updating, they are very time consuming and create more workload. Very reluctant to change.

    Advice to Management

Please look at inside talant for promotions, role responsibility changes within other divisions. Systems need to move forward, we could work more effectively and more efficiently.

    Cons

A lot of responsibility on small group of people running the supply chain group. Job responsibilities were learned by on the job training

    Advice to Management

Upper management was strong in the acquisition phase while i was working there. There were a lot of changes that impacted the day to day employees that wasn't realized.

    Pros

Location is great, Ability for Flex Time Hours is a great benefit, Opportunity to adjust Summer Schedule (Summer Hours program) is great.

    Cons

No current job security due to poor sales and poor high level decision making. Overall morale is low. Too many jobs are outsourced to India which causes internal frustration.

    Advice to Management

Management needs to stop looking "outside" company for talent. Start promoting and training from within. Instead of cutting lower level staff to save money, need to re-evaluate management layout (too many Chiefs and not enough Indians)

    Pros

There is an in-house cafe, excellent health and disability benefits, a matching 401K plan and a value put on recognizing individual talent achievements. Plenty of money is spent on company resources and equipment, accommodating employee needs, holding parties and celebrations, and encouraging continuing eduction and training programs.

    Cons

Since the company was acquired in 2012 by Ascena Retail Group, they've eliminated most of the brands and subdivisions and laid off half their workforce. In turn, this has scared a lot of the existing workers into leaving the company which has lead to current employees taking on additional roles and responsibilities to fill the vacancies. In turn, it has lead to a decline in work life balance which now results in many dissatisfied employees working one too many hours.

    Advice to Management

The company likes to hand out empty promotions to make up for the extra responsibilities, so you'll find there are a lot of unnecessary "managers" only managing one person or no one at all. This leads to lots of individual micromanaging and unnecessary hands in the pot when it comes to making decisions. In turn, this awkward structure results in one too many meetings about well, meetings. They love to hold meetings.
