I worked at Chart Industries full-time

    Pros

Working with some great coworkers very capable and excellent coworker to coworker communication. Nothing else to say good about the company now

    Cons

Every since they sold AIRSEP to Chart Inc company is in the dumps. Use to be a wonderful company to work for.

    Advice to Management

Get better upper management. Moral is at an all time low.

I have been working at Chart Industries full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great place to work with little to no staff reduction.

    Cons

Management is not part of the higher end of the gene pool. They can and will lie to you with a straight face. The management lemmings all run in a straight line with a wac a mole fear. Thinking out side the box will never happen here. And they will not tell the truth about future wages.

    Advice to Management

Clear the people who lie and the company will soar.

I worked at Chart Industries full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Most of the people are great, they want to contribute and see the company grow. Benefits are really good and 11 paid holidays.

    Cons

Management can't see the forest for the trees. There is no innovation at all, quick to shut down any ideas that are outside the box and really have no desire to improve. If you can get the local management past their egos to listen to you, major accomplishment.

    Advice to Management

Out with the old - in with the new... You aren't going to get anywhere with the local management teams in place now.

I worked at Chart Industries full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Company has good equipment and talented, experienced engineers. The work is steady and in a growing field. Quality System is excellent. Good integration with local college to bring in welders.

    Cons

In some areas, the union presence drags down the company's potential. Management does not understand how to deal with these people so those who care eventally ask, "why bother"?

    Advice to Management

Be consistent in your approach with methods of change and hold supervisors accountable.

I worked at Chart Industries full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Health and financial (retirement savings) benefits are very good. Many of the employees are very friendly and easy to work with.

    Cons

You really never know when the next large layoff will occur. At least some of the management is inexperienced. They and and many of their employees are severely over-burdened and underpaid.

    Advice to Management

Enjoy your abuse of power, for when the economy improves, many of your employees will inevitably leave.

I worked at Chart Industries as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

People are very nice and easy to work with communications between employees are effective flexible hours

    Cons

1 I did two semesters of Coop at Chart Industries working in two different department, none of them care about interns. Supervisors are so busy that they barely have time to meet with the intern. They have interns do repetitive boring jobs that full time employees are not willing to do. I did not learn much besides some basic ProE knowledge. 2 The work is intense but the pay is really the minimum compared to the rates for interns in the industry.

    Advice to Management

Care more about interns and invest more time in them as they are the potential future assets of the company.
