Pros
Core values are well implemented & practiced.
Cons
Some of people equate their efficiency in work by staying back too late at work.
Advice to Senior Management
Wish Chartered would emphasize more on balanced life between family time & work.
Pros
Team (ppl of same ranking) is cohesive & co-operative;
Cons
Leaders lack direction; Very local style of management; A very "Noisy" leaders, who mico-manage.
Advice to Senior Management
Do show more respect to the employees.
Pros
Its a very challenging environment, with scope for personal growth. It stretches you to the maximum and it is a very fast-paced job
Cons
The work pressure eats into your personal life and the compensation does not offset the over-time you put in, hence you feel dissatisfied in the long run
Advice to Senior Management
Seek the advice and support of external consulting firm who will outline a strategy along with recommendations for improving operational efficiency and implementing some change management processes in the company. Highly needed.
Pros
To learn the basics of wafer process manufacturing
Cons
Poor financial result result poor compensation to employee
Advice to Senior Management
Need to improve manufacturing execution and better development for Engineering capability
Pros
They give good benefits and average pay. The work is just routine. If you work hard, you can move pretty fast.
Cons
The people are more generally low key, and some managers are really very rude. They are not good at planning.
Advice to Senior Management
Trust and give more encourage to people working there. Move faster with customers. Align more closely with employees. And please let people speak up.
Pros
Chartered is one of the more professional companies in the foundry industry. Compared with companies in Taiwan and China mainland, the work stress level is lower, and generally people are treated more professionally and fair. The HR department offers a comprehensive range of training which can be very beneficial to fresh graduates.
Cons
Salary and work efficiency are lower than similar companies. For some reason, the management was unwilling to let go people who are no longer competent, which resulted in redundancy. Peoples' whereabouts in the company can be traced by company badge, which makes some employees uncomfortable.
Advice to Senior Management
I hope after the acquisition, the new owner will consider reorganization and downsize to promote the work efficiency and competency of this company.
Pros
1) Job security level is high.
2) Fairness to all ethnic groups and different cultures.
3) Generous annual leave.
4) Its Fab7 has leading-edge technologies.
Cons
1) The company is not earning profit. So bonus is poor. Basic pay is lower than competitor fundries.
2) A general problem for this industry: working hour can be long and jobs can be tedious.
3) Reward and award are rare and little. Morale is damaged over time.
4) Tend to emphasis more on system solution than human beings, which is really where the problem is some times.
Advice to Senior Management
Improve employee morale and management skills.
Pros
I would say one of the good companies in singapore to work for. Though its a bit slow from technical point of view, I mean work is not that great atleast for a designer point of view. But you have lots of resources and brainy people around to learn from them. Work and life balance is the best and Company has some good benefits. The pay is better than other companies in same field but again it depends on how you bargain. Overall a good place to work, ideally if you are not looking for cutting edge design challenges and want a good balance between work and personal life, I would recommend CSM.
Cons
Not much of technical and design exposure. Very slow and quite environment. More emphasis on management than technical abilities.
Advice to Senior Management
Nothing much. Its a fab house, so cant expect much design.
Pros
Fair in terms of promotion. More annual leave given than most competitors.
Cons
No profit. So no profit sharing. Sister and brother factories have totally different culture.
Advice to Senior Management
Ultra-important thing is direction. And be proactive to change in order to survive and progress.
