    Tough scheduling, great team

Catering Assistant (Former Employee) Valdosta, GA

ProsThe best thing about chartwells is the teamwork nature of the catering team. While working its was more like working with family. The free food that came along with the catering events never hurt either.

ConsThey give very few hours as a catering assistant. Sometimes I went up to 3 weeks with a single hour of work.

Advice to Senior ManagementTry to spread the hours evenly or to advertise the job as an on call job and not a part time so that the potential employees are not deceived.

Consnot good for someone looking to advance their career (more of just a temporary fit), long hours, there are a few disturbing employees, extremely low pay and no benefits for part time employees

    Exhausting without any rewards

Line Cook (Former Employee) Boston, MA

ProsFriendly staff is about all that was enjoyable at Chartwells. Unfortunately, this friendliness wasn't ever enough to overcome the feeling that you're wasting your time for a paycheck.

ConsLong hours, dangerous work environments, and indifferent management make the days feel endless and the following day dreadful.

Advice to Senior ManagementTake an interest in your employee's well-being. The exhaustingly long days and dangerous work environments are hard enough without the feeling that it will never improve.
