I worked at Check City full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Safe. Nice managers. time off requests. Free food. Relaxed environment. Make friends. Awesome Christmas party. 40 hours guaranteed.

    Cons

-no lunch break. No sick days. No tuition reimbursement. No room for advancement. No raises unless you beg. No overtime. Bonuses keep getting smaller as company grows but the workload is getting bigger.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Value your employees, they are the reason your customers keep you in business. Give raises during review times. Offer tuition reimbursement to better your employees education. Everyone in corporate especially collections should work at a store for a day.

    I worked at Check City

    Pros

    Not really any off hand

    Cons

Bad supervisors, pay is not up to standards, no room for growth, make this company money, but you will not make any. They promise a lot, you will be disappointed.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Your company has a lot of flaws, consider not stabbing people behind their backs, it's best to tell someone face to face

    I worked at Check City

    Pros

The tellers area is secured from direct contact with the customers. No worries of being robbed in my opinion.

    Cons

New tellers need so many overrides just to complete one transaction. On busy days this becomes very aggravating.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get rid of unnecessary or outdated customer "ATT's" that cause the need for an override before the teller is able to get into the customers account.

I have been working at Check City full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Interaction with all types of people keeps the job fun and interesting. Job is meaningful at times and relationships with customers and co-workers are my motivation to go to work each day.

    Cons

Hours are not very "family friendly." Required to work late hours and weekends, schedule varies per week so it is almost impossible to schedule anything within 2 weeks of time.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire cleaning services, I don't feel very professional pulling weeds and mopping floors when I'm asked to wear business casual attire.

I worked at Check City full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Excellent benefits, and good working conditions. Very secure and safe working environment. Pretty good bonus program. Plenty of opportunities to work OT and network with other managers at various stores. Great training provided and opportunity for growth with the right managers.

    Cons

Work-life balance can be off at times, no breaks allotted for in your day - but a few small breaks throughout the shift, if not busy. Management styles are very inconsistent - policies from store to store tend to vary.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More communication to employees. Scheduled lunches and breaks for employee shifts.

I have been working at Check City full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

company pays lunch fridays. Company events are fun. Casual dress code.

    Cons

Be ready to say goodbye to a good break or lunch during your shift. It seems that not eating or getting to sit in peace for 5minutes its impossible. The worst thing is that everyone seems to be okay with it. Yet we all complain about it and do nothing. Management should enforce breaks because under this circumstance no one is happy to work and it only shows on bad customer service.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make sure you give employees breaks. We understand that its busy but by law we need rest breaks and unpaid lunch breaks. We will work beyter this one.

Free health care for employee. Small commissions for selling prepaid cards and taxes.. small as in $2 to $5 each.

    Cons

    Advice to ManagementAdvice
