Pros
Safe Job, Stable Job, Good family balance, It's like working for the government. Good Benefits. Good vacation and time off policy.
Cons
For a 2000+ employee company it seriously acts like it is in start-up mode.
Autocratic management. Employees and project managers are kept in the dark of their own products.
Management treats their employees as untrusted employees at all times.
Salary scales tend to be lower. Raises never.
The companies greatest fear is paying out to much money to their own employees. The compensation plan is designed to be vague, unverifiable, and unachievable.
There is a strong paranoia inset into the company mentality, that impedes this company from going to the next level.
Introduction of new and enhanced products tend to be to little to late.
Check Point does NOT sell direct. This is a Reseller only company. However, all actions taken by the field makes it surely look like direct sales.
This company does not believe in marketing itself .... or spend money to promote itself.Advice to Senior Management
Trust your own employees
Treat your employees with respect and treat them as if they actually work for the company.
Open up the wallet ! - The money is going somewhere - reward your employees -
Stop Micromanaging EVERY single basic request that could be better managed locally.
Accept and listen CAREFULLY (and don't ignore or filter) information from the field and your customers, you may get a better understanding of what the market truly needs and wants.
The company could be a GREAT COMPANY if you only listened to ALL of your customers.
Don't assume the Check Point name will get you through the door ... There is a Love-Hate relationship that you have with your customers that you may not realize.
The reseller only model should be reviewed.
Market the company, spend some money - you have a new generation of companies, people and techies that have never heard of CHECK POINT !!
The company maintains a infrastructure as if it were a start-up. Hire more people. This review is just a sneak peek. Want to see all reviews on Glassdoor?
