    Pros

The people are high quality and very collaborative. It is a pleasure to work with every single colleague both in US and overseas. The products are superb and so there's a lot to be proud of. I was surprised by how many people know and respect Check Point. I thought I was coming to a little known small place, but everyone I've talked to was impressed. I did not expect it but there's a high level of prestige that came with joining Check Point.

Other Pro's: Food. Food. Food. Every day, 5 days a week, Check Point brings in lunch from waiters.com, and the company pays for each employees' lunch. Employees can order from an online portal that offers 30 different restaurants through out the week -- rotating among high quality local places. You will eat like a King or Queen here.

There is also a refrigerator full of great food for before and after lunch including both goodies as well as healthy things like cheese, fruits and snacks. It has been said that everyone gains 15 pounds their first year here. I have not gained an ounce, but I have eaten better than ever. As long as one is careful, they can enjoy a variety and quantify of amazing foods without gaining.

The environment is flexible. I was told by some old timers and even HR party liners that there was no flexibility at Check Point, but it turns out there's realistically just as much as any other big company. As long as people are working hard, delivering results, and managing to their MBOs, the leadership team is very supportive of work/life balance. This is very valuable and will help attract top talent. People can start and leave at various hours throughout the day to meet their personal and family commitments.

    Cons

Health Benefits are competitive but some elements of dental coverage are not as robust as they could be compared to alternatives

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

A wellness program would be a superb addition. (i.e. subsidized gym membership or other incentives to maintain healthy lifestyle).

    Pros

Great environment to learn and develop. The lower and mid level management make an effort to provide good feedback, and not good as well. You get the chance to work with the worlds largest companies and make a difference.

Managers try to enforce a work-life balance.

    Cons

Starting salary is not high - hard to get past the first 18-24 months until a decent raise is given. No benefits such as a car leasing deal.

The work load in the support organisation is enormous. Very tough and demanding job and you are given a lot of responsibly practically from day 1.

    Pros

    - You get to work with some of the best minds in the IT security industry.
    - You get to work with Check Point's core firewall products which are considered leaders and visionary by third party assessors.
    - The company is small enough (c3000 emp.) for individuals to have their ideas listened to and when appropriate acted on.
    - Hardwork is recognised and commended.
    - A lot of money is invested into R&D over marketing (unlike some competitors...), this leads to the near constant release of new industry shaping products, such as the new Capsule offering.

    Cons

    - Despite Check Point security solutions being installed in 100% of Fortune and Global 100 companies, it is a relatively unknown company on the global corporate landscape.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Spend more on marketing and let everyone know who we are and what we do.

I have been working at Check Point Software Technologies full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Working in a high-level customer support position allows exposure to the whole range of Check Point products. The customer base is Fortune 100 and 500 companies who have the funding to have the best products and support available. The support team at Check Point is very collaborative and supportive, with constant cross training. The depth and breadth of expertise is amazing. Managers have their own accounts and provide great leadership by example. Mobility within the company is well supported.

Check Point has well-stocked break areas--fruit, yogurt, cereal and good coffee every day. Lunch is paid for and delivered every day, not just the occasional pizza.

    Cons

The prospect of working with mission critical support of major enterprises can be daunting. However when the amount of support from fellow employees and management is figured in, it is hard to call this a con.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep Check Point the way it is. The culture is not traditional and makes it fun to be at work.
