    Pros

The stock offerings were real and not options so same day sales of vested stock increased my net take home by a significant margin. Those golden handcuffs are the only reason the work there.

    Cons

The organization is run in Israel. They don't listen to american input.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Sales

    Pros

Industry leading products, security focused, good quality of life with no micro management. Strong presense in fortune 100. Good team mentality on a local level.

    Cons

Pay below industry standard. Pay structure prevents commission until following fiscal year. Closing a deal does not necessarily mean you'll be paid, othere sales teams can "steal" deals without your knowing or authority. HQ in Israel disconnected from rest of company. Very little spent on marketing products vs competition. No perks or club.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Increase spending on marketing new products. Pay commesurate to industry based on role and promotions. With $1.5B in bank, create sales incentive trip.

    Pros

Great flexibility with work place, mostly nice people to work with.

    Cons

Weak management, willing to throw you under the bus instead of taking responsibility and supporting you. Customer are sold the moon but then you are responsible for getting them there.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get some business management training. Good technical personnel do not make good managers.

    Pros

Interesting business model (SaaS) and some cool people on the BA team.

    Cons

Typical of big organizations, cons include inefficient org. structure and lack of passion for company vision amongst employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Create a better/more exciting company culture. You need new, young/fresh ideas, so figure out how to attract that talent.

I have been working at Check Point Software Technologies full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Bleeding edge cyber and critical data security solutions - opportunity to move within the corporate organization - small enough to be a big fish quickly - large enough to make things happen

    Cons

Compensation scheme for sales is to put the sales folks on an island and burn the boat. Not my idea for wealth creation. meaning they reduce the number of accounts and increase you quota 30% or more over actuals - well above thier growth rate - meaning your value diminishes each year you stay on board. at some point, you move on.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Some Sr management performs in a world class manner, some do not. Overall I found mgt to be generally fair. and where it was not, they do address it.

I have been working at Check Point Software Technologies as a contractor (more than an year)

    Pros

Free lunch, great co-workers and some travel

    Cons

Low pay, no leadership, no clear objectives. Diamond Engineers are basically paid to deal with customer complaints while Check Point charges the customer a huge amount of money.

You are told to be on call 24/7 for your clients. Is it your vacation? Too bad, take a call at 3am.

You will not be given any encouragement, told that you're never doing enough to please customer who will never be happy.

It took me 6 months just to figure out what I was supposed to be doing, another 6 months to realize I wasn't doing properly the whole while I was not gettting any feedback from my supervisor. After the the first year I decided to look for a new job. Left Check Point and it was the best decision of my career.

If you like long hours, no feedback from your managers and never satisfied customers Check Point is the place for you!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice
