    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at Check 'n Go full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

closed on Sundays, only open until 2pm on Saturdays, pretty laid back atmosphere, pay is good if you are a manager

    Cons

They can never staff stores and keep them staffed which makes you work long hours with no breaks or days off. Only 2 employees per store so if you loose your employee you are on your own. They don't seem to care that you work 56 hours a week for months without a day off either. They pay CSR's really bad and expect them to do everything a manager does so the turnover rate is high. If hired as a CSR it is hard to get promoted unless a manager quits at your store or at another one.

    Advice to Management

You need to care about your employees and make sure they are happy. If they aren't happy they do not do a good job and do not care. Give them days off and staff your stores so no one has to work months without a day off.

I worked at Check 'n Go full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

40 hour work week for managers, no Sundays, meeting lots of different people and hearing all kinds of crazy stories, decent coworkers.

    Cons

Work in a store alone alot of times. Was a store manager for a year, and a csr prior to that. Had one employee and was only allowed to schedule her 24-28 hours a week, so worked by myself all the time. Was robbed at gunpoint, same store robbed twice in three month period. Upper management has very little concern with employee safety. Unrealistic expectations and unattainable goals make bonuses impossible. Always changing policies and procedures not always for the better. Upper upper corporate management very detached from reality of the business.

    Advice to Management

Stop having employees work alone, treat the people on the front lines with more respect.

I have been working at Check 'n Go full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Other than that it is full time there are no pros, Sundays are closed too, so it's good to have.

    Cons

Many hours of computer training. After role week of working here they want me to have my own register, they don't provide enough on hands training.

    Advice to Management

Management needs to offer better training and not rush their employees so much. For all the work that you're supposed to do, they don't pay enough.

    Pros

The pay is ok. Could possibly be a good place to work with proper accommodation

    Cons

Worked as a store Manger with one other employee in the entire store. Didn't get to complete training before I was put into my own store. Detroit stores are unorganized and not given enough labor hours

    Advice to Management

    Treat all stores equally.

I worked at Check 'n Go part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I was employed in a store with one other person, the manager. She happened to be an awesome manager and person overall. She made the the experience very worthwhile. Store hours were 10-6 M-F and 10-1 on Saturdays. I loved our customer.

    Cons

Upper management was horrible and had very unrealistic expectations for our store. 23 hours max and absolutely no benefits for part time customer service reps. You were expected to use your personal vehicle to drive around to different banks to "pop checks" with no mileage reimbursment no matter how far away the bank was.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees and base expectations off of local store location and performance. Stores located in deeply rural areas should not be expected to perform on the same level as those in larger cities.

    Pros

Good work life balance. close at 6pm and off on sundays. Some management are great to work with

    Cons

demand out ways the pay. For the goals that you are required to hit and the lack of tools they give you its not worth it

I worked at Check 'n Go full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

At Check N Go you are put into a store with at the most 4 other employees. As an employee you feel as if you are given a lot more responsibility. You get to meet a lot of interesting people and your connections will grow.

    Cons

It can be too quiet at times and even after you've done everything you can to keep yourself occupied (Day to day responsibilities, cleaning, paperwork), management still wants you to be doing things. Job responsibilities are constantly changing and they want more and more out of you. Management can be very secretive about whether or not you are doing poorly, or a good job.

    Advice to Management

Rather than being secretive about problems, let people know what they can do to improve. Companies all to often will tell employees what they are doing wrong when they should be telling their employees what they can do to improve.
