    I worked at Cheddars

    Pros

Employees get half off food. If you work there long enough you get vacation days.

    Cons

Servers have to tip out to everyone based on their sales not their actual tips. You can actually lose money working a shift.

I have been working at Cheddars

    Pros

    Clocking out end of shift

    Cons

If the tips weren't half way decent I would not be at Cheddars. 1. Managers do not back employees. Verbal assaults happen daily in front of whoever. 2. Servers are over worked by doing their job, the bussers, and sometimes the bar but we still tip out 3%?!?! 3. Doubles are relieved by doubles?!? I could go on and on. Think long and hard before applying. You've been warned

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

We are not minions rather employees that deserve respect. Some of us have to work at Cheddars.... you don't make it easier for us to necessarily want to work there.

Horrible customers and executive management that could not care less about their staff. Awful, awful, awful. Run and hide. I am not even bitter. It was really just that bad.

    I worked at Cheddars

    Pros

Good quality food and you no longer have to wear a tie.

    Cons

The customers are beyond ghetto. They swear at you, throw food at you, threaten your life, don't tip, want everything for free, and complain incessantly. It is just about the worst experience I have ever had as a manager. Servers will get worked to death because they are always short staffed because any server who is worth anything quits after 6 months once they realize they cannot make money there. The check average is soooooo low and the customers are soooooo cheap that there is no money for servers. Be ready for 10 to13 hours shifts and to walk with less than $100. It is the same at every location.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Area directors and above should pull their heads out of their behinds. They are really big when it comes to talk but very small when it comes to walking the walk. They also lost a phenomenal CEO when they got rid of Kelly Baltes. .

    Pros

Well managed and great people/co-workers... friendly environment

    Cons

Waiters only serve 3 tables.. limiting income especially during slow hours. Waiters perform most back-of-house/ closing duties = timely! Okay tips.

I loved the atmosphere! Great managers who were willing to work with you! They knew you by name and made a point to check in on you! The team really feels like a family from the front of the house to the back!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I have been working at Cheddars part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

I enjoyed the steady paced routines-- customer flow was predictable, and the patrons themselves were very pleasant!

    Cons

The work place was a very crude, rude, gossip-y environment-- which I suppose can be expected sometimes between crew members, but the management were main contributors. Just very unprofessional. Training was unorganized. Employees were spiteful and intoxicated. Lots of sexual harassment from coworkers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please do not outwardly contribute to rivalries, favoritisms, and gossip circles. What should be a simple job ends up being incredibly difficult when coworkers and management are unpredictably spiteful. It is incredibly unproductive and stressful.
