Pros
Always busy, the menu is challenging and changes every 6 months. The recipes are clearly written and made from scratch in house daily.
Cons
It is a factory, push them in push them out. The best is not good enough
Advice to Senior Management
Take the surveys to heart more and listen to the staff.
Pros
Apart from selling some of the finest restaurant food in the country, the online scheduling, electronic POSitouch system, and a well-organized system are some of the things that make working at the Cheesecake Factory fun. Everything is usually neat and tidy, and you know where to find what you need. The clientele is mostly generous for good service and thankful for a great meal.
Cons
Some managers can critique your mistakes too much. Workplace favoritism is sometimes grotesquely evident. The uniforms must always be white. They can be expensive to replace.
Advice to Senior Management
Chiding every mistake is harmful to morale.
Understand that different work groups are busy with their primary functions first and though helping in other service areas is a plus, it can't always transpire.
It would be nice to honor our veterans in some way.
Pros
The money you are able to make serving at any Cheesecake Factory is more than comparable to the money you could make working at any other restaurant that is not classified as a four or five star restaurant. The management is very knowledgeable about the recipes and prep for each food item, and the teamwork (when implemented) is very uplifting.
Cons
As always with restaurants, you work with a lot of college students who are all interested in having a good time and don't take their job and customer's experiences as seriously as they should. Sometimes the environment working around young people can become very hostile very quickly.
Advice to Senior Management
They need to provide more affirmation to their employees and try to get to know them on a more personal level.
Pros
Great environment, beautiful building, most of the time there are decent customers, and it is very busy on the weekends.
Cons
It is very unfair how the sections and such work. It is seniority and how often you work. Your sections have nothing to do with the quality of the server.
Pros
having money all the time , higher checks them other places in same class, most of the time great tips .
Cons
The managers at my location love to micro manage and i feel dont always do the best thing for everyone .
Advice to Senior Management
have more trust in your staff !
Pros
If you are a tip earning employee, the money is great! The atmosphere amongst employees is generally fun!
Cons
schedule flexibiity, employee loyalty could be stronger.
Pros
The Cheesecake Factory is much busier than other restaurants so it's easy to make good money. At the location I worked I got along with everyone really great. They also have higher ticketed items with will also increase tips. The side work really isn't bad either. At least compared to other restaurants I have worked at. The full-time benefits are really good but you have to be employed there for six months to be eligible.
Cons
The uniforms are a pain. They are all white and stain easily being that you are dealing with food all day long. They are very picky about the uniforms. They will send you home if your shoes and uniform are dirty as well if your apron and shirt are not pressed. It makes getting ready for work definitely more time consuming. It was not fun coming home from a late shift and having to treat stains and wash your dirty uniform because you had a shift the next morning.
Advice to Senior Management
They need to stick to their guns more. They let their employees get away with a lot before they let them go. Some employees are very disrespectful. Sometimes they will definitely favor some servers more than others. More often ones with seniority and it can be kind of annoying.
Pros
The only good thing about this place is the fact that there are so many servers so your schedule is incredibly flexible. Through an online system, you can release or pick up shifts last minute, and you could always take time off, no questions asked.
Cons
HATED working here. Absolute hell. I would go home every day sore and worn out. I felt completely beaten down after every shift. the place is so busy so you're constantly running around frantically to wait on demanding, ungrateful dirtbags. This place ruined my life for the years that I was there. Also.. for all the work that you do, tips are horrible.
Advice to Senior Management
smile.. and stop being such money grubbing jerks.
Pros
Paid in cash
Great hourly wage, most of the time
Cons
Seasonal busyness means pay my fluctuate
Didn't seem very willing to have table bussers become waiters, very few did
Stressful job when the restaurant is at its busiest, and especially during the holidays
Advice to Senior Management
While trying to cut costs is your primary concern it should be considered that the restaurant actually needs silver ware because we're out of it. Bussers often got into fights over it and did not lead to a productive work environment nor did it make for a good customer experience.
Pros
Fairly busy, decent pay for the amount of work.
Cons
Management can sometimes be abrasive. Some managers know what they're doing while others do not.
