I worked at Chef Geoff full-time for more than a year
Pros – Great team that loves to promote from within. Multiple current managers started as hourly employees. Each restaurant has a good family vibe. A lot of employees work at multiple locations, which allows for a good overall team.
Cons – There is a lot of transferring of employees and managers, sometimes with little to no notice. There is a lot of "secrecy" in employee status. Manager can be very hostile towards employees. Hiring process leaves much to be desired.
Advice to Senior Management – I think that the JSS and manager/staff evals would be taken more seriously as far as advancement goes.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

I worked at Chef Geoff as a contractor for less than a year
Pros – Individual groups are competent in spite of management
Cons – Management completely out of touch with other areas and labor relations
Advice to Senior Management – The divide between the management and tipped staff is gigantic, and most of the staff are virtual independant contractors having the onus of providing too much on their own to make money for the business. A complete re-evaluation of your labor relations is vastly overdue.
