    Advice to Management

Be more considerate with pay. I can work else where with same pay and less work

    Pros

    - Gain a lot experience in carpet cleaning and process, also with sales and customer relations. - Potential to make average amount of $$ (25K - 30K) - Get to meet a variety of people from all different walks of life - Mainly independent (as an employee) once out of the shop - No gas or vehicle maintenance costs (covered by company)

    Cons

    - High expectations for one individual (Sales Pro, Carpet Knowledge Pro, Carpet Care Pro, Customer Service Pro) - Work solo (at least at the franchise I work for) having to repeatedly lift heavy equipment in and out of home as well as move furniture and belongings solo - Commission based, with much unpaid work such as Estimates, All Driving time, Re-services (not always your mistakes), loading and unloading - Unpaid driving can be anywhere from 1.5 - 5.5 hours a day - Very long days 10+ hours per day on average - Employer expects employee to pay out of pocket for all damages that may occur (accident or not) - No room for advancement, once on commission that is "as good as it gets" - No benefits or incentive to make a career

    Advice to Management

Quality attracts quality. To have long lasting employees that will want to stick around, you need to create a position that is worth staying around for.

    Pros

Like many small companies, everyone gets to wear a lot of hats. That can mean a lot of exposure and involvement, as well as a lot of autonomy to set up systems and procedures as you see fit. Close interaction between technical, operational, and sales/marketing leads to a lot of learning opportunities. Many franchisees are absolutely wonderful people, and helping them can be very rewarding. HRI was once a great place to work in Cache Valley, and many of the core elements that once made it a good environment are still there.

    Cons

Be prepared for some ethical challenges in how the company treats employees, vendors, and customers (franchisees). In nearly every role in the company, you will frequently have to deal with dissatisfied and angry customers and franchisees - and often their complaints are completely legitimate. When I was there, there was a core "in-crowd" that guarded the companies' stories carefully, and if you didn't belong to that crowd, or questioned anyone's approach, good luck. Be prepared to be ostracized to some degree if you are not of the right culture. HRI is currently owned by a venture capital group (Baird Capital), and the typical short ownership cycle makes long-term business development initiatives very challenging. The organization has been suffering a lot of turnover in 2014, both in Logan and at the Nashville location, and there are reasons.

    Advice to Management

.....for what it's worth: Recent business results speak for themselves. There are tremendous morale issues both within HRI and within your customer network, and many of these issues go hand-in-hand with one another and impact business results. Compensation and benefits are adequate for a company this size, but the company values and culture (not the mission statement) need some serious attention.

    Pros

Can make comission, So potential to make good money. Some days you can make alot of money with in a matter of a few hours. For the most part easy work.

    Cons

Long hours. If given a route that is less profitable, wont make a ton of money. Deals with costumers in their home. Most costumers are great, but there are always those few that drive you crazy.
