    Pros

    Obviously the pay at Chesapeake is great, and although many perks have been cut back recently there are still plenty of good ones, including the fitness center. There are plenty of resources to accomplish goals and most are clearly defined. There's also a lot of room to move up.

    Cons

    At some levels there seems to be an over-emphasis on appearing as though you are doing something. Show up on time, attend lots of meetings, etc. and you'll be fine, but if you are a few minutes late you may get reprimanded- even if you perform spectacularly.

    Great pay especially if you like a "laid back" (LAZY and poorly managed) environment then you'll be satisfied.

    Pros

    Good pay and work schedule was as promised. Job advancement opportunities.

    Cons

    Extremely lacked experienced management. Absolutely no structure in training employees. They seem to just throw money away! The only place to really advance in your career is the corporate headquarters which is located in OKC - not where I want to raise my family. If you're looking to actually work and apply your education and skills, you might want to look elsewhere! Positions at this company look good on your resume, but will leave you with nothing to apply to another company that's actually well ran.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Control your money and hire some talented analysts/project managers. Then, listen and actually budget and follow your spending! Fire people who don't work, because there's a lot of them at your company. I literally watched employees do nothing all day and weren't held accountable for anything. I believe the term "laidback" is used a lot, but really there's a lot of lazy employees who are taking good money away from your company and essentially, out of your pockets. Hold managers responsible for training and employee accountability, Create and adhere to a regulated training program for ALL employees. I found that there was a lack of experienced leaders at your company. I left your stable, good paying job because I wasn't being challenged and advancing mentally in my technical background.

    Pros

    Training available for computer programs, etc. Good benefits, compensation and vacation time. New bereavement leave. Great Restaurants and Fitness Center. Annual sick leave replenishment.

    Cons

    Core values, Metrics, Corporate Mumbo-Jumbo. Lack of experience in Upper Management/Supervisors. Recent layoffs caused severe loss of experienced, knowledgeable people. Some of the recently promoted supervisors have let the "power" go to their heads and employees tend to feel micro-managed.

    Pros

    The campus is incredible and the restaurants are delicious, lots of activities going on all the time, friendly and supportive co-workers

    Cons

    Workload was below average: Lots of free time with nothing to do. I asked and was told is was somewhat the culture. Also a volatile company, not something I would feel comfortable at full time.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Management should look at the workload of employees and shoot for a better balance. Culture also feels very rigid and cold.

    Benefits are great, culture is open and friendly, campus is beautiful, company is back on the rise.

    Management WAS misguided and inefficient. No company-wide policies for structuring of departments. Doug Lawler did good job on cleaning house.

    One of the best companies I've ever worked for. Allowed me the opportunity to build and develop my own department. Great leadership and wonderful co-workers. Team effort all the way around.

    Never ending 60-70 hour work weeks. Felt like we were going 100 miles/hour every day.
