    Pros

This is a great first company to work for. The people are really nice. They are very team centric.

    Cons

Salaries are low. There are heavy religious overtones. Men have to wear a tie and shave their faces.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Relax a little. The world is a diverse interesting place. Allow people to be themselves

    I worked at Chick-fil-A

    Pros

The work environment is great — what you'd expect from a company that's known for great customer service.

    Cons

Leadership can be hired directly instead of moving through the ranks. This causes division as the newly hired manager or assistant manager may have no idea what employees do.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Hire based on non-seniority.

    I worked at Chick-fil-A full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

The fellow employees were great with the exception of a few that thought they knew it all and tried to be my boss. Starting out with a new store the hours were really good. They are closed on Sundays which is good. The company is pretty good about promoting within.

    Cons

Working in the back of the kitchen sometimes was not good because you never got to see out the windows or see any of the customers. Work could be too repetitive, doing he same thing everyday. The pay was terrible. Standing on your feet was really bad at first but then you get used to it, a really good pair of shoes helps. Break room was not a break room, it was a small closet that you had to share with employees that were working the drive thru and management would not let you eat in the restaurant on your break. Management was not willing to work with me on my schedule when I needed time off, was told that they were letting people go because of schedule changes. Would not let me work out schedule change with another employee that was willing to cover my shift.

    I worked at Chick-fil-A part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Good learning experience- at first it will be a shock to move so quickly but eventually you'll be going faster than you ever have before.
Laid back management- you'll never have to deal with anyone screaming at you
    Young workers
    Very Flexible scheduling!

    Cons

Terrible pay/low opportunity for pay increases
Bad work environment in general- I've never seen a group of people that like to talk behind each others backs as much as this group
Efficiency issues- some people say one thing is right to do but another person will say something different.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop with the false happiness its better to show how you really feel than to be forced to be all smiles all the time. At the same time, Make the work environment less stressful by trying to curb the back talking.

I worked at Chick-fil-A as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

Best working environment I've ever been in. Even as an intern, you get the same respect from the CEO as you do from the cleaning ladies. Everyone is so kind! The corporate offices are great. I loved what I did and the company was always open to moving me around to make me happy.

    Cons

    Pay could be better.
Not a lot of room for growth, not much "climbing of the corporate ladder"

    I worked at Chick-fil-A part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Scheduling flexibility and solid customer service experience make for work at Chick-fil-A which may be more worthwhile than your run of the mill fast food restaurant.

    Cons

All the typical difficulties to be expected in a fast food and customer service industry are to be expected; however, management was usually on point.
