Current Employee – been working at Chick-fil-A part-time for more than a year

ProsThe company has great values, and in my experience I had managers who cared about the team members and made work enjoyable. Management also rewarded employees with raises around twice a year.

ConsIt can be a monotonous job, but so can any other job in the food business.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep running the business like the job titles suggest, like a team. That atmosphere makes the employees a lot more committed to the job and the culture that Chick-Fil-A hopes to reflect.

ProsIt was fun. I loved the people I worked for. There was always something to do so you were hardly ever bored.

ConsYou need to engage the customer and I'm not a very talkative person so that was hard for me.

Former Employee – worked at Chick-fil-A part-time for more than a year

ProsGreat for young kids starting out, opportunities to advance, work around schedule. Fast paced environment.

ConsMicro managing is a big issue. Also, a lot of the time I felt like I was doing more work for minimum wage than was necessary. Also, our branch started putting people "On call" but without pay. However, I hardly feel it's necessary to put anyone on call for chicken...it's just chicken.

Advice to Senior ManagementI don't think it's truly necessary to know every detail of what your employees are doing. Example, going to the bathroom, picking up something to throw it away, etc.

Former Employee – worked at Chick-fil-A

ProsWorking at Chick fil a was a great experience. They teach the importance of customer service and satisfaction. They go over and above to make the store atmosphere one that is pleasing to those who dine in. The drive thru service is top notch.

ConsThere aren't many downsides to working at Chick fil a. The only one I can think of is that there aren't fair opportunities to move up the scale.
