I worked at Children's Council of San Francisco

    Pros

Excellent Benefits Package, opportunities for growth and education about social programs. Great staff and management to work with.

    Cons

Lack of structure in Senior Management which is filled with bureaucracy and politics that overall effects the procedures of staff. The agency needs strong leaders to make fair decisions for the well being of the agency. Several managers operate on procedures and practices that were effective in previous years.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

New Executive Director should manage the Senior Managers closely to ensure programs and procedures are administered more properly. Perhaps contract an agency to ensure that Senior Managers are administering their contracts properly.

    Pros

Great entry level positions with opportunities for advancement. Great benefits, employees are unionized and many departments offer great training.

    Cons

High Turnover and inconsistency in senior management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Provide more opportunities for collaboration amongst programs and Senior Management, higher a consultant to improve the work that is done at the agency, and/or change Senior Management.
