    Pros

Great atmosphere for the most part and friendly employees. Very accommodating for any personal needs to take time off.

    Cons

minimal compensation. The benefits package is good BUTTTT if you leave within 3-4 years of your initial start date the hospital will retract any and all contributions to your retirement package. This was a big selling point upon hire, but it wasn't stated that the contributions are only applicable to employees with a 3-4 year tenure

    Advice to Management

promote based on merit more. pay administrators based on performance not merely on tenure. you will retain a much higher quality workforce, as opposed to pushing most of the good workers out

    Pros

I worked with a recruiter to get this temp position as a staffing assistant however after i was hired the position and my duties slowly shifted. I was no longer doing what my position initially stated and instead I am just watching the front desk. However, the employees in the HR department are wonderful to work with, small environment, and very everyone is very personable and friendly.

    Cons

I feel as if my position was misguided after I was hired though this is good experience. Want more responsibility and a little better training overall.

    Advice to Management

Great employee morale, needs a little more training and guidance for new employees/temps.

    Pros

Every department is different, but my department was great. We were team oriented and the VP took all department issues to heart and really tried to make a difference. Managers want you to be successful and try to help you when they can. The benefits are pretty darn good.

    Cons

Sometimes the politics got in the way of the job. Pay could be better. Not much room to grow in the department. Limited resources to get the job done.

    Advice to Management

    Help more with professional development.

    Pros

Very rewarding work in clinical care and cutting edge research. The new CEO seems to be trying very hard to improve the hospital for patients and employees.

    Cons

Salaries are not competitive and there is no path for promotion whatsoever. It often seems management actively impedes promotions and raises in salaries. I know several talented and intelligent staff that were excited to start working here but left after only 1 or 2 years for this reason.

    Advice to Management

Reward those that perform well. Don't be afraid to give them opportunities to take on new responsibilities.

    Pros

Good mission. It's handling healthcare changes well. Job growth is possible. They are making an effort to improve the sometimes painful corporate culture, and are (finally) providing a little management training. Many excellent people here.

    Cons

Confusing mix of conflicting priorities from upper management, mediocre healthcare benefits ( !! ), siloed work units.

    Pros

    good benefits
    affiliated with Harvard Medical School

    Cons

Watch out who you work with. Especially professors are self-centred and has a huge ego and never listen your ideas

    Advice to Management

make more surveys about your professor. Try to give warning if they treat their postdocs and grads just because they have "power" which can destroy their employee's careers.

    Pros

potential exposure to the cutting edge of research. good benefits.

    Cons

the hospital itself might be great, but regarding to my specific experience- Lab specific- depends on your director. you can end up in a poorly managed place with lack of resources where there is nowhere to grow to.
there are other amazing labs in the hospital.
