Pros

I was proud to work for one of the top Children's hospitals in the country. I was treated well and the benefits were good.

Cons

I felt that the compensation was poor and there was little room to make greater pay. Any raises I received were offset by by benefit costs going up.

Pros

The facility is a Magnet hospital. Nurses are treated with respect more so that other facilities I have worked for in the past. There are opportunities for advancement as well as educational opportunities.

Cons

Lost vacation time when I started at Akron Children's. It takes some time to build up vacation time, especially when working part-time.

Advice to Senior Management

Continue to treat employees with respect.

Listen to your staff on the front lines who do the work. When they say they need more staff THEY DO!
