    Pros

This is a very nurse friendly organization!! Loved working here! Would recommend to anyone interested in pediatrics. Company values nursing judgement and physicians are great to work with.

    Cons

Unfortunately, for advancing degrees, they do not give much "incentive" to stay (in other words, they really do not pay Nurse Practitioners that well) However, the other benefits such as great work environments and work culture could potentially outweigh this in the future?...
Medical Benefits are way too expensive.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

May need to become more competitive in the NP market in the future

I worked at Children's Mercy Hospitals and Clinics as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

The company culture was fantastic. We had lunch catered frequently, lots of bonding activities and easy accessibility to senior management. I really felt like my opinions mattered and, in fact, several of my ideas were put into action.

    Cons

The only downside I can think of is that CMH requires an excess amount of training.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep doing what you're doing! Working at CMH was an amazing experience.

    Pros

    Cons

The parts that I did not enjoy about working for Children's Mercy Hospital and Clinics were Some days there is a lot to do and others there is not, there has to be offsite parking (but the shuttles are typically very quick and efficient).

    Pros

The culture is multi-discipline, so everyone knows what's going on with the child; and, the communication is outstanding.

    Cons

You are working with children and families. It can be a challenge to see the lack of interaction within the family.
