    Pros

Working with children, watching the children learn and play, working with coworkers

    Cons

-Management staff is unprofessional. Corporate management is also the same.
-Standards/rules were not followed unless visits from state or corporate were expected.
-Schedule changed daily with no guarantee of hours or leaving on time for other commitments.
    -Low pay and poor benefits.
-Income is not used to provide supplies and improvements for the children.

    Advice to Management

Stop talking behind employee's backs, especially to other employees. Start providing recognition for employee's achievements.

    Pros

the hours are great and you never work on weekends or holidays. The job is very rewarding and you build great relationships with parents, children, and co-workers.

    Cons

Loud and chaotic atmosphere with little down time. The obvious downsides of childcare- diapers, sickness, etc.

    Advice to Management

Stay calm in hectic situations, as it only adds to the problem. Show more gratitude towards your employees and listen when they have issues to address.

  6. Mass babysitting job - not a teaching position

I worked at Childtime Learning Center part-time

    Pros

    Get to work with children.

    Cons

Throw your lesson plans out the window as management shuttles kids back and forth from room to room to get the max # of kids to min # of teachers allowed. This is the main focus.

    Advice to Management

Concentrate on the teaching aspect and gear everything toward that. Pay your employees full-time salaries w/ benefits, and you will get more qualified employees.

    Pros

There are no pros for the Duncanville location. Fell in love with the children. The children were the only ones that made it worth it.

    Cons

Management is horrible and very shady. Will pretend that their employees matter but in reality they walk all over their employees and screw them over. High turnover rate at the Duncanville location. Hand foot mouth disease constantly going around the center. They do not follow proper protocol for handling an contagious infectious disease. They will leave infected children in the classroom with other children instead of removing them from the class passing the virus on to other children. They would not rush to notify parents to pick up contagious children. If they could not get ahold of parents they would let the children stay the rest of the day with the other children and would make no attempt to contact parents again. A teacher left a 3 year old by himself in a classroom for an hour and did not know the child was missing. No disciplinary action was taken against the teacher. The teacher is still in charge of a class by herself with no consequences of her actions. There is constant rotation of teachers in the building leaving the children in an unstable environment. They have a different teacher almost every week. Childtime in Duncanville TX has been the worst place I have ever worked.

    Advice to Management

The management needs to learn to respect and value their employees. Management needs to learn how to be honest to their employees and not talk bad about them behind their back.

    Pros

Working with children and their families, my current director, support from the directors in my area. My co workers. Some benefits

    Cons

Company policies make it difficult for directors to do what is best for their families and staff. That it is run as a retail business and not an education facility.

    Advice to Management

Allow for more consistent schedules for lead teachers in the room with out putting the directors in a position to have to constantly change the teachers from room to room. Allow extra hours to have more floaters available to cover breaks and vacations. Have the marketing and education departments coordinate better with seasonal releases to the staff. Remember that the staff is the face of company and should be respected more.
