    Pros

    - great teamwork - awesome communication - fun environment - never a dull moment

    Cons

    - sometimes managers get really stressed out and can take it out on some employees--especially servers - no bussers, hosts and servers have to prebuss and wipe down all tables

    I worked at Chili's part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

If you love spending time with people, waiting can be a lot of fun. Pay is less than most waitering jobs but still $10+ an hour. The better you are, the more you make.

    Cons

People that you serve can be mean and you have to remain kind in return. You are very dispensable as it doesn't cost a lot to hire a new person. No one stuck around for more than 3 years

    Advice to Management

Pay your employees more respectable wages and serve healthier food. The food served is a lot worse for you than any one would imagine

    Pros

Friendly atmosphere. Hands on training. Up beat environment. Nice managers. Organized kitchen and staff. Good food.

    Cons

Menu constantly changing. Management never on the same page. Hard to make good money for the work being put in. No food runners or bus boys at the time. Low checks

    Advice to Management

Add runners and bus boys. More advancement opportunities. Easier computer systems.

I have been working at Chili's (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Excellent Coworkers, independent job, discount even when your off the clock, fun environment, modern, you decide how much you get paid

    Cons

HORRIBLE management, BAD kitchen (I don't feel safe eating the food from my store), ALWAYS understaffed in the heart of house therefore horrible ticket times, bad training for heart of house, large turnover rate in heart of house

    Advice to Management

TRAIN YOUR EMPLOYEES BETTER. Our management at our store SUCKS, they are never to be seen! They hide in the office all shift and complain when we ask them for help! They choose favorites. Our district manager is the WORST, he is rude and blames everything on the employees. He asks for feedback and then proceeds to argue with the feedback given. He doesn't even know how to tip!

    I worked at Chili's full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Met some good friends, can make decent money if you are at the right store, have the right managers, and have the managers on your side

    Cons

Management doesn't care, will make empty promises they have no intention on keeping, can get overwhelmingly busy because management doesn't want to run a full staff to save costs, no real advancement opportunity

    Pros

Chili's has a great and fun atmosphere. Awesome team work environment and management that really cares and helps you out

    Cons

Bussing your own tables.sucks. I think it looks bad having your server clean up dirty dishes. I'd rather have a busier even if it means higher tip out

    I worked at Chili's full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

It was a great place to work during college. I was paid above average for a casual dining server

    Cons

Sometimes money isn't great and it is very unreliable. Some managers act like children and have favorites like it is high school.

    Advice to Management

Managers need to be better trained and act more professional. Don't over schedule the same servers again and again and turnover won't be so high.

I worked at Chili's (More than 3 years)

    Pros

solid feedback and support from the multi-unit manager until he was let go for political reasons

    Cons

tremendous politics that did not allow the operators to manage the units. HR politics swayed decisions that had nothing to do with operations.

    Advice to Management

let operators do their jobs and stop letting the squeaky wheels get the grease, when your best performers just want to work, do the right thing, build the business, have fun and not be involved in the nonsense that is in our faces daily.
