    Cons

the salary is not competitive with other CROs, their systems are archaic--particularly the use of Lotus notes and spreadsheets vs. microsoft and databases.

    Pros

Excellent team. Good communication and very helpful and knowledgable team members.

    Cons

Pay is low end. Need to hire more CRA. Should hire young CRAs to learn from the more experienced instead of over burdening the experienced staff.

    Pros

    Cons

Micro-management in all the wrong ways Unsustainable work-load Upper management without proper understanding of tasks you're beig asked to complete. Inflexible work hours Raises are not given to reward excellent work

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees. All that are hired here are professionals and know how to work effectively, therefore rather than reprimanding for outside of the box thinking, reward and encourage it. Also, give people more opportunities to advance within the company.

I worked at Chiltern International full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The people are the greatest asset of this company. They really manage to bring in some great people from other large CROs, specifically PPD. The workload is fairly manageable as well.

    Cons

Pay and benefits are not that great. The IT department is virtually nonexistent and as of 2012 the company still ran off of Lotus Notes rather than MS Office.

    Advice to Management

Work on the IT department and the infrastructure.

Part of the growing CRO industry. Good co-workers. Easier studies to manage. Manageable global network.

Decent at many different things. Not great at anything specific. Technology is outdated. Capital better spent on updating technology than buying redundant companies. Insurance/pay is lower than industry standard. Significant downturn in company since UK management left.
