    Pros

    You get to meet a lot of people. It can be challaneing at times, but if you can brighten someones day, Why not try. The people you work with are amazing. General manager is a great guy.

    Cons

    The pay is not so great. Hours can get harry at times, but once its worked out you know they will not be changed.

    Hire more people like our manager Greg. He is very nice, easy to work for.

    Pros

    Work life balance is OK. Benefits not that much.

    Cons

    There is no such thing called promotion for you unless you are in their "privileged party". The pawns seek trouble with you if you are overqualified. The bosses only listen to one side story, a way to demean you so that only "their inner party members" are promoted. Trust me, they have experience to deceive and handle people like you. Your out shown talent and effort only "give hard time to boss" unless you contribute credit to the pawns. You are a trouble maker if you are smarter than your boss and their pawns can be extremely ruthless and criticize you all the time by all means they can come up with. They see you as "a bag of faults". Be careful of your casual talks with bosses or pawns. They use that as handlers to damp your career.

    There is no compassion or conscience in this company. You are in the delusion of their words. You will find some excited reviews. Those reviewers are either in delusion or members of privileged party.

    Restore conscience and get rid of privileged party inside teams.

    The guests were the highlight of everyday for me. I truly enjoyed working with anyone who walked in the door.

    Cons

    Terrible management. Awful. They cared more about money and less about the actual business of the hotel.

    Open up a conscience store, you'd be better off

    Pros

    The owner of this Comfort Inn franchise is an arrogant and uneducated man. He ignores all input from subordinate employees and does what he wants to do when he wants to do it. He is rude and uncaring, and sees employees as an unnecessary expense.

    Cons

    No training. Assigns employees to do personal tasks at other non-hotel properties that he owns. Always complains about how long you took to do a job.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Listen to your employees, they see things that need your attention. Employees are not fools or idiots like you think. Hire a people-oriented person to manage your property and go away on a long fishing trip.

    Pros

    Work/Life Balance. Flexibility. Pay. Hotel Discounts. Fun People. Good Relationships with other employees. Continued incremental improvements keep moving us forward.

    Cons

    Politics can go awry when in the midst of a change making forward progress difficult because those doing the work are afraid to take action not knowing how leadership might react. They are even more afraid to speak out.

    Little compassion from those in highest leadership positions for the employees; however, this is mitigated somewhat by the compassion shown by some in lower leadership positions.

    Diversity is discussed but I believe the conversations are not being taken to heart yet. I'm hopeful there will be positive changes in the future.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Truly accept diversity. Accept that aside from race, gender, and the other typical topics of a discussion on diversity, personality type, communication style, and learning styles should also be considered. Once they look beyond the typical corporate behavior to recognize what each individual brings to the table and recognize the true value that person brings, then they will have achieved true diversity.

    Flat organizational structure which gives a lot of access and exposure to VPs. Collaborative work environment which allows exposure into different areas.

    Relying on other groups for information or deliverables from other groups. Seems like any company would have these types of challenges.
