Great experience, great coworkers, great management

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) Fort Lauderdale, FL

ProsLaid back, professional, management is understanding of all the pressures you're under, easy work but there's a lot of it, good camaraderie with coworkers. Not everyone liked it here, but if you put in even the slightest bit of effort, you were appreciated.

ConsYou don't always get everything on time from the secretaries, which is frustrating because they leave around 5pm and then you're stuck fixing other people's work.

Advice to Senior ManagementNone, except to maybe push secretaries to make sure the files have what they need for trial.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend

    Unstable Environment

Legal Assistant (Former Employee) Fort Lauderdale, FL

ProsThere were a lot of genuinely great workers that truly were helpful and hands on.The environment was laid back and you were able to work your case loads without feeling micro-managed.

ConsChoice Legal Group seemed promising when I started, but drastically declined as the years went by. workload and expectations increased while compensation, recognition, employees and respect decreased. There were no training in the beginning on their systems it was "learned as you go". When they finally decided to incorporate training, it was done by pulling large amount of groups into a "crash course"training. This also disturbed your work progress because a bulk of the day was spent on several crash course training There were also several raise freeze for a period of two years. For those who receive excellent reviews, it made working here very discouraging. At one point, Full-time employees were forced to take an additional day off to offset budget cuts. Then, there were the massive lay-offs every Friday which left everyone worried. This went on almost every week for about 2 years. To do damage control, they would host luncheons and meetings to ensure everything was "ok"and shortly after the layoffs would begin again. Regardless of your tenure, a severance package was not provided and they did not pay out any sick time or vacation time you accumulated. Overall, This company expected their employees to be very dedicated to them, yet they were not dedicated to their employees.

Advice to Senior ManagementProductivity and the success of a company truly relies on your honesty, dedication, and commitment to your employees.

    From good to the worst.

Original Document Clerk/File Clerk (Former Employee) Fort Lauderdale, FL

ProsIt was a pleasure working with some people.

ConsGood workers are overloaded with their work and the unreliable, lazy workers did not do.

Advice to Senior ManagementDistribute workload correctly and do not give orders to good workers to do lazy people's tasks also.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

    Constant changes

Legal Assistant (Current Employee) Fort Lauderdale, FL

ProsGreat people to work with. Relax management style from supervisors/managers, they don't micro-manage their staffs. Casual work culture. Company provides a lot of trainings, great place to learn if you are new and have the intension to learn.

ConsManagement constantly making changes: restructuring teams, changing policies and moving staffs from one job responsibility to another or one location to another. High turn over of staffs. Management is quick to point out mistakes & slow to award those who is doing a real good job. There are some really good quality staffs in this firm that often got overlooked or ignored and finally left because of that.

Advice to Senior ManagementFocus more on building up your staffs instead of changing the work process/team/policies so much. Good people is the key to build up the firm not new changes.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend
