I worked at Choice Legal Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Camaraderie among the staff.

    Cons

The firm seems to lay off the attorneys and staff who are the most proficient as they emphasize production and volume over quality. The attorneys managing the firm are frighteningly inept and unprofessional.

    Advice to Management

Hire attorneys with the background, experience, and professionalism needed to build a successful practice.

    Pros

Treated fairly if you are a professional, understand that this is a business and no one owes you a job. Hotel and car rentals paid for you up front - usually a Jag or Infiniti! Great place to learn the ropes of civil procedure.

    Cons

Constant layoffs with no rhyme or reason. Bonus' and expense checks arrive on their own time frame.

    Advice to Management

    None. The practice is cyclical.

    Pros

Compensation was adequate for the position.

    Cons

Extremely oppressive environment with absolutely no job security. Upper management was very difficult to work under. The staff in general was over worked and under trained.

    Advice to Management

    Need to value your employees.

I worked at Choice Legal Group part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

There are no pros-except maybe that they'll hire just about anyone that will enjoin in their criminal activities, forging and doctoring legal documents with white out and copy machines.

    Cons

Cons-see above. You'd be at risk of raid/arrest on any given day. Apply at your own risk.

    Advice to Management

Turn yourselves in to law enforcement-maybe you can beat your co conspirators to the punch and cut a deal with the prosecutor.

I worked at Choice Legal Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Very busy, no monitoring employees, lots of traveling..

    Cons

Poor management, Previous owner was disbarred for a few months. The name changed at that time but the people remained the same.

    Advice to Management

Hire more attorneys and support staff. There are too many files per attorney/paralegal. Things will never improve and the client will never be happy unless the attorney/file ratio is balanced.

I worked at Choice Legal Group full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

There were a lot of genuinely great workers that truly were helpful and hands on.The environment was laid back and you were able to work your case loads without feeling micro-managed.

    Cons

Choice Legal Group seemed promising when I started, but drastically declined as the years went by. workload and expectations increased while compensation, recognition, employees and respect decreased. There were no training in the beginning on their systems it was "learned as you go". When they finally decided to incorporate training, it was done by pulling large amount of groups into a "crash course"training. This also disturbed your work progress because a bulk of the day was spent on several crash course training There were also several raise freeze for a period of two years. For those who receive excellent reviews, it made working here very discouraging. At one point, Full-time employees were forced to take an additional day off to offset budget cuts. Then, there were the massive lay-offs every Friday which left everyone worried. This went on almost every week for about 2 years. To do damage control, they would host luncheons and meetings to ensure everything was "ok"and shortly after the layoffs would begin again. Regardless of your tenure, a severance package was not provided and they did not pay out any sick time or vacation time you accumulated. Overall, This company expected their employees to be very dedicated to them, yet they were not dedicated to their employees.

    Advice to Management

Productivity and the success of a company truly relies on your honesty, dedication, and commitment to your employees.

I worked at Choice Legal Group full-time

    Pros

Laid back, professional, management is understanding of all the pressures you're under, easy work but there's a lot of it, good camaraderie with coworkers. Not everyone liked it here, but if you put in even the slightest bit of effort, you were appreciated.

    Cons

You don't always get everything on time from the secretaries, which is frustrating because they leave around 5pm and then you're stuck fixing other people's work.

    Advice to Management

None, except to maybe push secretaries to make sure the files have what they need for trial.
