Pros
A lot og great people at Chordiant. I don't think most of them are still around at Pega now only 1 year after the acquisition by Pega. Too bad as I think the company had a great future.
Cons
Sold to Pega, bad idea as company was going in the right direction with the economy improving. Difficult couple years prior to acquisition led leadership to bail out too soon.
Pros
Great autonomy was given to several key employees.
Cons
Dysfunctional organization. 5 CFOs ran the top of the company in the boys club.
Advice to Senior Management
Get out and interface and empower the employees more. The stiff hand of upper management stiffled a great deal of innovation.
Pros
Employees treated decently.
Promotional opportunities, though some had to leave to get it
Cons
C-staff was a bit removed from operations. By a bit I mean fully. Everything was financial driven. No thought to product from the top. Middle management ran all product decisions. Near the end a CTO did try to get involved, but scrambled all of the organization and rendered it inefficient by matrix managing the entire engineering group and put an absolute moron in charge of staff.
Advice to Senior Management
irrelevant, company purchased by Pega, who is run by a monarch.
Pros
I learned a lot from my internship
Cons
They should improve their training program for their intern.
Advice to Senior Management
Good
Pros
Chordiant was a small and dynamic environment to work in. Making deals was the overall objective. Everyone did what necessary to be successful
Cons
Chordiant got acquired by Pega so the cultur is gone. Nothing good to tell about Pega so far. Everything gets regulated - creativity and dynmic is no longer important
Advice to Senior Management
to late now company sold to Pega
Pros
Chordiant treats its people with respect and civility. The benefits were excellent and continued to improve during my employement
Cons
Company sold to Pegasystems which is just the opposite. Pega treats its people poorly and with little respect. Also public floggings are the norm.
Advice to Senior Management
None
Pros
It is a wonderful company to work for with lots of benefit whichare far better than most of the employers in the same space
Cons
The major downside is the employee growth. Since the company is too small there are hardly any positions where one can grow.
Advice to Senior Management
Advice to management is to get more and more new projects. Chordiant need more sales in north america. They have solid product but less penetration
Pros
Outstanding talent in the company. The PS folks are very smart. They make projects successful in extremely tough situations and they do this on a consistent basis. Fun place to work at, outstanding benefits.
Cons
Sales really dropped in the recent times. The implementations are huge and typically there is a lot of finger pointing by the client although it is not your fault.
Advice to Senior Management
Need to invest more money on the product. Need to spend more money on building functionality as it is important to the business folks.
Pros
Marquee client base, Brilliant people on the team, Opportunities to collaborate and learn, fantastic benefits, competitive salary, good client perception
Cons
Limited product set features - challenges in competing with competitors, management not agile enough, employees are not recognized internally, recognition is sometimes based on false perceptions, poor positioning of team members on client projects by management
Advice to Senior Management
Create a higher value proposition of services team to the client and ensure that chordiant folks are the ones leading projects or at least have a presence rather than partners!
Expand and find creative ways to provide growth and challenging opportunities to employees.
Pros
Great company to work for
Cons
Carreer growth is not that great
Advice to Senior Management
Communication could be a lot better, more internal promotions
