I have been working at Chromalloy Gas Turbine full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

You can get a decent pay check if you have the skills required. A lot of overtime is available if you want it!

    Cons

You can get a decent pay check if you have the skills required. A lot of overtime is available if you want it! Overtime seems to be a requirement though

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Why is overtime mandatory at times?!

I have been working at Chromalloy Gas Turbine full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Company will surprise workers sometimes with gift cards and they also offer profit sharing.

    Cons

No overtime, No training and supervisors ignores workers concerns and feed back. Upper management do not retain good workers or acknowledge their experience in this field. They rather hire new people then to pay more to their current workers for their years of experience and their dedication. Company need to learn to treat workers with respect and not like dummies!! They spend more money on turnover than to train the existing workers that are loyal to the company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat your workers with respect and dignity. spend less money on turnover and train your current workers offer initiative, pay raise and opportunity of growth within the company. When you hire new people break them in and keep them. keep a balance and don't have your current employee work short of staff by having them working 2 machines away from each other. have proper staff it will avoid accident, mistakes and will keep up production and excellent profit. remember the workers are the one that make the company prosper and the CEO rich. Treat your workers with respect reward them when they over work acknowledge when they meet goals that make the company profit. Don't treat them like animals when machines go down offer word of engorgement and you will have a rewarding staff.

I worked at Chromalloy Gas Turbine

    Pros

I interned here for a little while as an Engineer. The engineering staff is great and seems to work really well and pretty close to the production workers. Pay was really good as well.

    Cons

Upper management/HR seems to be on a completely different path than the rest of the company. I.E. at all hands meetings, the engineers would sit with the production employees while the rest of the salaried employees stood around with their arms crossed. It feels like the upper management thinks of everyone else as scumbags.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try and be more comforting to your employees. Don't let them out to dry. Investigate, don't assume.

    Pros

    The lifetime friends you meet.

    Cons

Overworked; and not enough help to feel like you did a job well at the end of the day.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn to appreciate and offer help to Customer Service Dept; as this is the face of the company.

    Pros

The pay and benefits aren't bad. They do tuition reimbursement and there is some over time.

    Cons

The managers and supervisors are all corrupt. They encourage pencil whipping---anything to show they are making a profit. They try to skim around FAA regulations. It's scary that they have government contracts---hope they are being closely scrutinized!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Lead by example and demonstrate integrity, if possible. Let your people know when they've done a good job.

    Pros

Got a chance to learn Solidworks software and Pro E.

    Cons

This place has poor management direction. Also, there is not alot of experienced people working on the repairs of the aircraft engine parts. Raises are not very good as well. Only cost of living adjustments. Health Insurance is terrible as well. I would not recommend anybody to work for this company. Avoid at all costs.

    Pros

Opportunity to work overtime as workload permits. Cross training is encouraged so there is a chance to learn new jobs in a variety of areas. Has been interesting to meet and get to know people from many different countries. Benefits are good ,health insurance, 401k, pension no longer available to new employees.

    Cons

Some jobs can be repetitious .

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

A lot of improvements have been made in the past 2 1/2 years which has been good for everyone so just keep doing what you've been doing and always looking for new product lines to keep us busy and growing as a company.
