Pros
Broad area of responsibility so learning is enabled as a means of survival. More positive attitude since Fiat on board.
Cons
Buy out packages in 2008 has left the company with large voids in both experieince and middle management talent. The matrix organization has the working level confused.
Advice to Senior Management
Reconsider bringinb back the talent pool that was given V tip packages to leave. Most left because they felt their job was at risk and getting the package was better than getting nothing.
Pros
Chrysler was a good employer, fail because of the economy
Cons
Down because of the economy
Advice to Senior Management
Need to control production out put
Pros
Bankruptcy has made us "lean and mean" with renewed focus on getting the right product available for customers which will lead to continued growth and success. As an employee, I have noticed a positive change in the decision-making from management - with more focus on "do it right" than "how cheap can we do it". This change in thinking produced the amazing 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee and will continue to enable Chrysler to develop exceptional product and be successful going forward.
Cons
As with any large company, there is "red tape" to be dealt with in going through day-to-day business. This can be frustrating but in general the learning curve is manageable and making key relationships work can help individuals "get things done".
Pros
Benefits & car discounts are the only incentives to work in this company. The pay is ok and the cafeteria is good. Thats where it ends.
Cons
Chaos!! Politics and the old boys club that do nothing all day!! The residue from the 2008 situation who did not take the package are the majority of the workforce in the company.
Advice to Senior Management
You guys need to get rid of all the Sr Managers in some areas of the organization. Especially the ones who have been in the company for 20+ years. There are some good leaders in the organization but you need to speed up in cleaning the residue from the 2008 situation.
Pros
An easy job to get if you have previous automotive experience, but on the bottom of automotive companies to work for. As of now Chrysler is not the company it once was but that is still no excuse for the treatment of their new employees.
Cons
There was only one upside and that was a consistent schedule, when they felt like giving out hours to workers.
Advice to Senior Management
Management should be completely changed over and a new crew of younger management should take the lead.
Pros
Cafeteria, benefits - HSA. In house tech support, car deals.
Cons
No future growth, laughable tuition reimbursement, semi-arrogant leadership
Advice to Senior Management
I was forced to turn down 2 promotions because my Director would not release me. I think this mind set pretty well described the ambitions of the company. Chrysler was (might still be) a struggling company in a business where the same old people will not save it. Chrysler needed to spend more time and effort growing and mentoring it's young candidates. My employee reviews went as such, "I think you're doing a great job and I want to mark you excellent in almost every category, but management says I can't or else we have to pay you more."
Pros
Great People and product, excellent long term vision
Cons
Development, communication and lack of advancement
Advice to Senior Management
Recognition and worklife balance
Pros
A very grassroots organiztion where most people are trying to do there best for the customer.
Cons
Lacking visionary leadership, too much nepitism and entitlement.
Advice to Senior Management
Do not be content to follow, not your competitors nor the practices of your past.
Pros
The company gives out want you put into it. If you put your best foot forward and work hard, the company will produce opportunities in your favor. Dedication is always good.
Cons
company was having hard times...lots of layoffs
Advice to Senior Management
I enjoyed my time at chrysler
Pros
1. Comensation and benifits
2.Work doesn't come homw with you
3. You don't have to thiing to do the work. Color by numbers approach to most tasks
Cons
1. You don't have to thiing to do the work. Color by numbers approach to most tasks
(If you like to stay stimulated mentally, you can see why this would be a problem)
2. Some of the jobs can be physically taxing
3. Poor balance between work and social life
