Pros
Chrysler is very strong with strong products and healthy balance sheet. The merger with Fiat will help them expand there brand and gain economies of scale.
Cons
If you come in as a contractor be prepared to wait. It will take several years before they will convert you. The only option is to look for another position either inside or outside chrysler.
Pros
Encouraging and energetic work environment/culture, excellent networking opportunities, creative and hardworking employees, an atmosphere that encourages continuous improvements, multiple brands to work with (each with their own personality), opportunities to grow with the company, ability to work with multiple departments, a diverse workforce, available resources, pay and benefits
Cons
Large age gap between Senior Management and salary employees, corporate beauracracy, inpersonal (large company, people often get overlooked due to the amount of employees), tarnish brand reputation due to bankruptcy
Advice to Senior Management
Pay forward employee appreciation and recognition, build a more personal relationship (while remaining professional, keep an open door, meet with staff regularly to ensure fluidity.
Pros
Lots of resources and large facility
Interesting work
Decent pay
Cons
Too many people in one place
Too hierarchal - many people think they are so-called better than others until they leave the building after work, then return to nobodys
Parking is a nightmare
Too diverse a workforce - english is becoming a second language (and it's butchered there currently)
Management needs to start actually doing things and stop reading emails only
Advice to Senior Management
Get off your chair and do some physical activity - email is only as accurate as the person who wrote it.
Pros
Talented employees - able to do what it takes to get the job done.
Exciting products
Great facility
Cons
Lost much of their talent
New leadership main focus seems to be work is number one at all cost with little appreciation for a job well done.
Advice to Senior Management
Empower employees to have a larger role in decisions. Improve opportunities for upward movement, more responsibility, etc...
Pros
Interesting work
employee car program
great benefits
time off
Cons
There are some incompetent employees but that is also true within any company
Advice to Senior Management
I am satisfied overall with my job and I am very grateful to work somewhere as upbeat and enjoyable as Chrysler.
Pros
tons of autonomy - as much as you can handle.
Cons
work environment is totally disorganized. responsibilities are not well understood between groups.
Advice to Senior Management
start with communicating responsibilities!
Pros
Large enough for wide range of opportunites. Samll enough to get things done
Cons
Work life balance is difficult
Advice to Senior Management
Retension of the best
Pros
Family type environment, lots of lifelong friends interesting work if you are a car person.
Cons
Work balance not even betwen corporate expectations and real life at a plant
Advice to Senior Management
Favortism is too obvious, balance and equal opportunitiies for all is not happening.
Pros
positive work environment, opportunity for advancements
Cons
long hours, some weekends worked
Pros
Cool jeep brand. Great HQ bldg in Auburn Hills. Cool people and informal working atmosphere. Good bonuses when times are good. Strong focus now on improving the products.
Cons
Chaos of the Fiat management style now that the companies are merged. Seems like weekend work is expected. Too many rapid changes and changes in direction to maintain steady long term growth. Lack of established processes.
Advice to Senior Management
Offer development opportunities to employees allowing them to rotate and move every 24-36 months. Define a goal based incentive comp plan that goes well below just the executive level.
