Pros
Was first office-job opportunity, worked for a summer term after second year of University (studying Economics & Finance). Worked in a very dynamic customer atmosphere, being in Collections, developed a strong relationship and customer satisfaction skill set. Worked with great, motivational peers. Was recognized as part of a company contest, for a submission and received commemoration from Tom Gilman, the CEO.
Cons
The largest downside was that the company did not recognize my undergraduate studies, as well as my potential for growth within the company or any related companies and has not had any follow-up now that I have graduated. I believe that I was a strong performer and was a great team motivator, but upon follow up with Human Resources, have had no sense or progression or opportunities.
Advice to Senior Management
Treat all employees, especially summer students with respect and understanding. Would only recommend as a place to try out, and be aware that it may not lead to opportunities for a full-time career.
Pros
Good pay, and experience for college graduates. Job gives you a taste for the field, and some experience for a real job. Training is decent.
Cons
Work culture and environment are miserable: crazy schedule and hours; work holidays and overtime; management/ supervisors are unfriendly, demanding, micromanaging, backstabbing, dishonest, highly political. Recruiting company, and Chrysler Financial tell you first that want to hire as many temps as possible after 3-4 months. Not true: many are done working there in just few weeks/months; temps are not hired after 3 months-can be there a whole year as temp and just be done working there. Company changed name to TD Auto Finance but still having same work environment. Temps can get great reviews from supervisors but finish working there in few days. Place is unpredictable, and promotion is based on ruthlessness towards others. Temps need to start looking for something the first day they start working there. Part of employees leave at first opportunity when other job comes up.
Advice to Senior Management
Appreciate your employees and temps. Need to get rid of bad morale if want to retain good workers, and encourage people to do their best. Do not abuse people due to economy: many will not stay even in these times. Stop telling your employees, temps and others great things and, do the opposite behind their back.
Pros
Very diverse work force and they promote from within.
Cons
A portion Senior management was very incompetent. During my tenor the site manager was fired and an new one brought on that new nothing about running a center and eventually ran it into the ground.
Pros
Great benefits included health, dental, medical, 401K, and earned vacation.
Untraditional work hours allowed avoidance of rush hour traffic and allowed time for appointments.
Cons
Political environment, lack of communication, disorganization.
Stressful work environment, productivity driven, business plans and goals frequently changed throughout the year. Inconsistent. Top to bottom business structure inneffective, departments did not collaborate, difficulty in serving customers due to company dysfunction.
Advice to Senior Management
Look at modern business practices and structuring to find ways to better serve employees and customers. Fairness and respect are important to success.
Pros
There existed a decent number of talented, analytical individuals who excelled at their work. They historically compensated their individuals well, which may not have been all that beneficial in terms of viability under the recession.
Cons
Unfortunately, the more talented individuals left as they didn't have much say in the direction of the company. At the time, most employees were counting their chickens when they were going to get laid off. News of the company was generally found via Google News.
Advice to Senior Management
Be more open to the analytical minds of the company. Most of upper management are lifers who are not engaged with data and fact-based decision making.
Pros
Good benefits, good job when you have a good supervisor. Company car, lots of freedom, no one looking over your shoulder.
Cons
Not a good job when you get a supervisor that doesn't know your job.
Advice to Senior Management
Hire supervisors who have been an auditor for 2-3 years. Don't give someone a 2 week crash course and expect them to supervise experienced people.
Pros
Company being sold which will allow us to get back in business
Cons
No longer captive to Chrysler. The last two years has been tough with no direction until lately.
Advice to Senior Management
Listen to employees, ask for ideas on how to do things. There is a need to not look qt the past and move forward
Pros
Stability and great co workers sums up the best reasons to work at Chrysler Financial. Honestly, there is not a whole lot that's great about Chrysler Financial (at the moment).
Cons
The company is extremely sensitive to potential lawsuits from our debtors. Our management is riddled with favoritism, micro managers, and those in positions that serve no purpose. The biggest downside at the moment is the fact that our management is promoting customer service in order to prepare for our transformation into TD BANK, but as collectors we're still parroting the same old song and dance of pay today or where's your car. We need to be on the same page and we most definitely are NOT.
Advice to Senior Management
Management's goals need to mirror your employees daily goals and work habits; right now we're working at cross purposes. This cannot continue, but it does.
Pros
Decent pay, good chance at bonuses, Ability to advace if you did your job well.
Cons
Stability. Closed Philadelphia branch in August.
Advice to Senior Management
Hopefully TD bank will hire new management.
Pros
A haven for cogs, the ideal employee unquestioningly executes tasks according to ISO documentation and maintains the status quo..
It has a slow pace and great work life balance. Benefits are good, holidays are generous.
Cons
It is a Dilbert like work environment. Information is disseminated via the rumor mill. Promotion is via the good old boys network.
Advice to Senior Management
Increase you networking because you just got bought. Plan carefully how to invest your golden parachute. Be grateful you have a golden parachute because what goes around comes around.
