I worked at Chrysler full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

At Chrysler there was a lot of freedom, and that was great. I dabbled in many, many different areas, and learned a ton. When you work hard, you are complemented. When you slack, people won't give you a hard time. You have control of the type of day you are going to have, and the type of employee you want/have to be.

    Cons

The cons, as usual, go hand-in-hand with the pros. People who take advantage of the freedom weigh the company and culture down. There is very little fear, very little repercussions, and because of that, inefficiency and bad attitudes spawn and prosper. Freedom also exist (here we go again) with the management. Just as employees become complacent, so too do the the managers. Again, the product and quality of work suffers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be harsher, be meaner, stop taking it easy.

I have been working at Chrysler as a contractor for more than 3 years

    Pros

It is a very stress free environment and we get to experiment with new technologies within the advanced department.

    Cons

At times it is tough getting in contact with upper management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Pros

O.K. Benefit program for new hires, hiring many that were on unemployment. Good 401K, room for growth for family or those they like!

    Cons

Tier I & Tier II pay differences cause dissension among workers. No pension plan for new hires. A lot of favoritisim

I have been working at Chrysler full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The majority of the people are wonderful and are willing to help at all times.

    Cons

The need for people to help stems from unclear processes and a lack of discipline.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Talk with your employees and openly receive the feedback.

I worked at Chrysler full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Very structured. Roles and responsibilities are clearly defined. Fair work expectations. If there is difficulty with something, there is a place and forum to voice it.

    Cons

The machine moves very slow. Many resources due to all the layers of checks and balances.
Logistically difficult to navigate the company, starting from pulling up to work and parking to getting through the building, entering suites where co-workers are located, finding conference rooms and stepping out for lunch or errand.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need comfortable work space that doesn't drive clutter to improve performance. More reproduction tools available such as printers / scanners.

I have been working at Chrysler full-time

    Pros

If you want it you can take additional responsibilities (no rigid guidelines). Freedom to try new things.

    Cons

If you want to move up the ladder - It is not who you know, not what you know. Probably true at most companies but it is very blatant here.

    Cons

Auburn Hills campus is a great place to work.

I have been working at Chrysler as a contractor for more than a year

    Pros

They keep you busy, and in my experience they get you involved and working on your own very quickly. Supervisors recognized good work and started pushing to get me a direct position after about a year.

    Cons

A lot of inefficiency, and clerical work driven by the size of the company, systems in place, and merging with Fiat. Structure of the company is so confusing and wide spread it can be difficult to track down essential contacts.
