I have been working at Chrysler full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

New powertrains are being produced at break neck speeds gives you the opportunity to learn at a very fast rate

    Cons

Not enough managers and engineers to manage daily production, WCM projects, and cover the alternate work schedule.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There is a large disconnect between CTC and the plants. The stress on managers in the plants is apparent and we will be soon losing very valuable people due to working environment in our manufacturing facilities.

I have been working at Chrysler full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Union representation and protection. Job security. Great pay (if you're first tier). Good benefits. Decent people to work with. Build great products.

    Cons

Arrogance and self aggrandizement seem to be the rule of thumb among the lower management tier.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Realize you DON'T know more than the people you're trying to lead and listen to good advice from the floor.

Current Employee - Production Supervisor  in  Belvidere, IL
Current Employee - Production Supervisor in Belvidere, IL

I have been working at Chrysler full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great Pay, can be rewarding at times

    Cons

Very little assistance from upper management, always so busy that you can never do things the right way. Upper management wants you to document everything you do, rather than doing it. You spend five times the amount of time documenting what you do on a daily basis then it took the time to do, and can be very frustrating

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Assist your floor supervisor and reduce the amount of work proofing

I have been working at Chrysler full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Its a great place to get experience for your first or second job and learn mental toughness and the fine art of taking abuse. You will know what you like and don't like to do for a living.

    Cons

PT is run on fear and intimidation. The don't develop people or skills, they just use people up until they break and then find fresh meat. You could work 16 hour days (8 hrs of it unpaid of course) and it will not be enough to satisfy your management. Never a thank you or a "You did a Good Job", just criticism. If you are not made permanent within the first year, you need to find a new job, because you will never be made permanent. Actually, when you take a job at Chrysler remember to think short term, you should not stop looking for a another job. If you like what I've described, then you will do well there. They will really like you.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    They don't take advise.

I have been working at Chrysler full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Nice company car program. Decent benefits.

    ...........................................................................................................................................

    Cons

Raises and promotions are hard to come by. People don't develop expertise and competencies because they are forced to change jobs in order to get raises.

    .....................................

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep the right people in the right job and compensate them accordingly. Development and providing challenging opportunities to your employees can still be provided in a constant job or environment.

I have been working at Chrysler full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The pay, benefits and retirement. There is a lot of different people so finding people you work well with and sticking with them helps <3 I have been fortunate enough to be placed in a great department.

    Cons

Attendance policy very strict but I do understand but I think they need to give a couple more extra days a year.

I worked at Chrysler as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

Friendly and caring people. Competitive salary and benefits. Excellent culture and great products. Interns enjoy field trips to plants and the race track. During these trips, there are vast amounts of information one can learn about how the cars are made/tested. Very satisfying experience for someone who likes cars.

    Cons

Somewhat bureaucratic and slow-paced at times for an intern who is still in college. Mentors are sometimes not the best.
