Pros
Old school values. The peers and management I interfaced and worked with are flexible and willing to follow-through with their agendas.
Cons
The environment is not available for suitable reality review due to other world problems and unrelated events, condoning the mixed messages derived.
Advice to Senior Management
Old school values. The peers and management I interfaced and worked with are flexible and willing to follow-through with their agendas.
Pros
Great work and life balance. Compensation on par with other companies in the area.
Cons
Senior management lacks leadership skills. Too many people in the company who have been there forever - which reduces your possibility of career advancement. Heard that it's impossible to fire a rank officer, which is insane.
Advice to Senior Management
There are tons of people here who are incompetent and can very easily be replaced by better perfoming employees for much less.
Pros
Benefits are good. Support from upper management.
Cons
Lack of flexible work arrangements.
Advice to Senior Management
Need to consider flexible work arrangements to keep good employees.
Pros
New experience with Commercial insurance vs most other insurance companies that only deal with personal lines.
Cons
workload too heavy, high stress, unreliable coworkers(always calling out sick or on long term leave),
Advice to Senior Management
Hire more employees to compensate for employees on long term leave or quitting. If staffing according to the books are perfect, then on average with 1-2 people out per day, we would need 1-2 more to compensate. Low staffing means high work load which equals unhappy employees which ultimately makes the customers suffer.
Pros
Challenging work, a good company to have on your resume. Chubb offers a chance to work on unique lines of business within the insurance industry.
Cons
Unrealistic amount of work. Inconsistent upper management support for change management issues. Lack of true recognition for accomplishments.
Advice to Senior Management
Take time to notice accomplishments of employees and provide more recognition. Money alone is not enough to create true satisfaction.
Pros
Some old school values, underwriting accumen and leadership. Flexibility for family and personal life. Many offices to move around in.
Cons
Sadly this is not the same organization I began my career with, pay is not competitive nor is the entire compensatioon package.
Advice to Senior Management
Offer your employees the value of the position versus how little you can offer them in terms of compensation. Nothing is a bigger smack in the face then being offered double your salary for the same position at multiple carriers.
Pros
- depending on the division there is not a lot of room for growth
- politics can be overwhelming at times
Cons
- great benefit
- excellent work life balance
- pay is okay
Advice to Senior Management
Ask the people that are doing the job before making certain decisions. We know the ins and out of our departments and what works and what wont work
Pros
There is supposed to be flex time. But it depends on the manager.
Cons
Very slow place. Management had no appreciation of work done. Many people are just hanging there waiting for their retirement.
Advice to Senior Management
They need to hire competent people.
Pros
Great work life balance.
Ability to earn bonus + profit sharing.
Great health benefits.
Cons
Lack of promotion opportunities.
Lack of personal development opportunities.
Pay is lagging what other companies are offering.
Advice to Senior Management
If you're going to expect your employees to do more with less, at least pay them more.
Pros
benefits package, flexible work options, company reputation, stability
Cons
Difficult to get promotions unless you are a diverse employee. There is so much focus on diversity that they have lost sight of talent, skill sets, knowledge and hire/promote based solely on your diversity.
Advice to Senior Management
Simplify the performance mgt process. Promote Caucasian people. See above comments.
