I worked at Chubb Fire & Security full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

benefits are good, you can wfh(work for home), people are nice. You can relax and join this when you are ready for retirement..relax work env..you can finish the work in two days and enjoy two days in office and one day work from home

    Cons

Old People… no drive for learning…boring company. I wasted my couple of years. Techonology has moved a lot outside but in Chubb its still 19th century and it will never happen. Mgmt try to bring Indian outsourcing company to move little faster but outsourcing is not the solution.
In my exit interview HR said we are insurance company we don't need Technology guys…
    No free christmas party

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I have been working at Chubb Fire & Security full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

The benefits, salary, bonus, flexible work schedule, coworkers. company activities for employees.

    Cons

Long hours, some unrealistic best practices to meet goals, expectation for meeting or exceeding goals in light of the work load is not realistic. Micromanaging by some managers is unproductive and hinders the workflow, as well as having favorites (its unfair).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Staff properly and review best practices for realistic expectations. This will result in better customer service and customer retention.

I worked at Chubb Fire & Security full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

They offer great benefits, health, 401k, profit
Sharing, pension, ect. People you work with.

    Cons

It depends on what department you work in
And who your managers are. Most of the company
Has good manager. It's about 80/20 80% good.
I had poor managers that set me up for failure.
My position was newly created so there was a
Big grey area. My goals constently changed &
More often than not my goals were not
    Measurable

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Set up specific, measurable goals and make
Sure they are clear from the start.
    Measurable and clear

I worked at Chubb Fire & Security full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Awesome benefits, relaxed dress code. Bonuses were good, provided you were lucky enough to get one. Great, friendly people in the office.

    Cons

Overworked and underappreciated. Office is on far north side of town, which can be difficult when living in east valley. Laying people off after 20+ years and just a few years from retirement is unusual.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Staff appropriately, stop expecting perfection when too much work is given. Do what is necessary to get morale back up to where it was 5 years ago.

    Pros

    Have yet to find any

    Cons

The company operates with no outlined procedures which leaves a ridiculous amount of room for error.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Procedures should be put in writing. Training is needed so you can gauge the proper staffing needs.

    Pros

    Comprehensive benefits package is attractive

    Cons

Increasing workload and demands do not match with pay

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Value your dedicated employee as a whole person. Stop the micro-managed style and treat the individual with respect.

I worked at Chubb Fire & Security full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

If you are in a revenue producing department you get better bonuses and opportunities and perks.

    Cons

If you are not in a revenue producing department forget about traveling, reimbursement for mileage, or any kind of professional development including professional memberships.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There is only so much an employee can do. In order to get an Exceeded All review not only must you walk on water but you will still only get maybe 2-3% if you're lucky.
