    Pros

    - Because of the Casinos remote location talented people tend to leave for work closer to home and as the surrounding community doesn't have a large enough population to fill those positions the business tends to promote from within.
    - They provide meals.
    - Holiday related perks like turkeys for Thanksgiving, hams for Christmas etc.
    - Great paid time off policy.

    Cons

    - Attendance policy is applied to non customer facing positions just the same as customer facing positions.
    - High turn over in upper management means projects and company strategies can change on a dime.
    - If you haven't worked in a Casino before, there are lots of regulated aspects of the business, cameras everywhere and people looking over your shoulder. This can sometimes give you the here-jeebies.
    - Employee retention is not a priority company wide.
    - The regulatory aspects of the business aren't inherently bad but sometimes the implementation is poorly thought out and next to impossible to get changed.

    Advice to Management

    - Try to keep the good people.
    - Try to trim some of the red tape.

    Pros

great benefits and team members are like family

    Cons

Tribal leaders get to much involved in casino operations and don't have the experience to do so.

    Advice to Management

Take care of managers just as much as tribal members and union employees. No raises in five years is absurd for a multi-million dollar operation.

    Pros

Decent pay. The annual party at the water park is probably my favorite perk. Free lunches. You can get away with a lot..

    Cons

Union dues are ridiculous. Management is very childish. ALOT of backstabbing. Smoky environment. Stressful. tribal employees get treated much better than non-tribals.

    Advice to Management

    Stop gossiping about your employees

I have been working at Chukchansi Gold Resort & Casino

    Pros

Free lunch, great employees to work with, great opportunities for smart/hard-workers, we did get a bonus this year.

    Cons

Dangerous commute, high stress, poor work life balance, high turnaround, not stable for team members in upper management, environment of greed, and I smell like smoke when I come home even on days I don't go on slot floor.

    Advice to Management

Focus on team morale by creating a stable work environment where work life balance is encouraged rather than trying to squeeze as much as possible out of your talented staff without offering additional compensation or promotions.
