Moving in the right direction.

Marketing (Former Employee)
Princeton, NJ

I worked at Church & Dwight

ProsChurch & Dwight has come a long way in the last few years. They have made some strategic acquisitions and are being favorably viewed by Wall Street.. Management has work to address some of the changes that were plaguing the company before including culture and work life balance. If you are coming from another company with a strong marketing background, you have the opportunity to really stand out from your peers and to excel.

ConsInternally, they continue to minimally invest in their brands. If you are coming here to do marketing, you will find your time more focused on project and general management activities.

Advice to Senior Management.

For any group but sales - this is a great company.

Sales (Former Employee)
Princeton, NJ

I worked at Church & Dwight

ProsUp and coming company that has - thus far - remained under the radar from the big giants it competes with (although this won't be for much longer). Plenty of opportunities in the company, and a strong financeand PSM group make it a place to work - if you're in those groups.

ConsSales group - both internal and external - run like the "fast food" shop of CPG companies, as they have taken so much under their belt that they cannot quite grasp what to organize and do about it. The internal sales group is led by a management team that is extremely political and territorial, using fear as a way to drive it's employees rather than cultivating them to grow. If you are looking outside of the sales group, this is a great company. If you're looking in the sales group....well, then.

Advice to Senior ManagementStrategic plan for the company is great - execution at the sales level is significantly lacking, and this will become evident shortly.

Appreciate the work ethic and integrity of your employees.

Hourly Employee (Current Employee)
Old Fort, OH

I have been working at Church & Dwight

Proslongevity, management does what it can to keep working. almost no layoffs.

Consdoesn't always promote from within, chooses who they want to advance or promote without opening the opportunity to other equally qualified people. experience and/or seniority on the floor means nothing except a little more vacation. little difference in terms of rewards or appreciation for the longtime employee versus the person hired 3-5 years prior. benefits package is smaller with each passing year. pay more for insurance than any other company similar or dissimilar in the area. morale is low. there is NO APPRECIATION FOR THE GOOD JOBS THE HOURLY EMPLOYEES PERFORM SEVEN DAYS A WEEK ON A ROTATING SCHEDULE. no incentive given for doing a better job.

Advice to Senior Managementunderstand how high performing, and good-working your employees are, and reward such. make the old fort plant the standout it used to be, in their treatment and appreciation of their hard-working employees regardless of what everybody else is doing. the attitude of management now is, if you don,t like it-- tough!

A good company, but too lean

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

I worked at Church & Dwight

ProsGood teams, great ancillary perks - summer hours, employee giving fund, supplemented weight loss groups. Fair salary but not enough support staff.

ConsToo lean means that you can't move that much. They don't promote you unless someone dies or retires and people stay FOREVER!

Advice to Senior ManagementWorkers at Church & Dwight work hard - everyone rolls up their sleeves and digs in which is great but people want recognition through advancement and when you can't offer that, you lose them.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

One of the worst job experience

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

I have been working at Church & Dwight

Prossummer hours (Memorial Day - Labor Day)
good medical benefits
reasonable work life balance
good stock performance
some great people as colleagues

Consmanagement by fear
too much politics
cliquy
very limited career advancement opportunities
extremely high turnover
cut throat culture
insensitive managment
difficult commute

Advice to Senior ManagementManagement needs to be more sensitive to people and how they treat them, especially offering more career opportunities and better compensation so people want to stay. The current rate of turnover is way too high in my opinion
