I have been working at Ciber full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Commute. The distance to the client site is manageable.

    Cons

Lack of response from the delivery management team. HR forgot what the H represents. Too many layers between those who are doing the work and those who are making the decisions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Honesty is always the best policy. It isn't the people at corporate or the branch offices that are contributing to the bottom line, it is those people who are onsite doing the day-to-day delivery who should be rewarded. Insist that management treat every resource with respect. Respect your employees, rather than ignoring them and hoping they will go away.

I have been working at Ciber full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    Very unobtrusive management
    Reasonably responsive to most questions

    Cons

    Very tight with money
High turnover with the account managers so communication from the field can be tough

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you want quality people to stick around and continue to make the company money, then please be prepared to be a bit more competitive in what you pay them.

I have been working at Ciber full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

I have heard through experienced sources that Ciber pays employees higher than it's peers do. So far, this theory seems reasonable.

    Cons

Internal systems (time keeping, client billing, employee reviews, etc) are a joke. They are unnecessarily buggy and difficult to navigate. Senior management is totally 100% disconnected from the 'typical' worker.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Overhaul of internal systems and internal processes. Make it easy for us.

I worked at Ciber full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Benefits were ok and some of the co-workers were great.

    Cons

Management doesn't care about their employees. Just looking to fill a spot on a project. Not a good company if you are looking for longevity in your career. HR Department is terrible. No room for advancement.

I worked at Ciber as a contractor (more than 5 years)

    Pros

There are no pros to mention.

    Cons

Shifty -- I could never get a straight answer from my Ciber reps or managers. Ciber headquarters constantly flooded my work In Box with irrelevant press releases, newsletters and streams of strange or even threatening messages that had nothing to do with me. But the worst was the 30% cut they siphoned off my pay BEYOND their fee. They were released as a preferred vendor for my client company and I was freed to move to another agency in the same job. What a difference! Less administration, no random crap, holiday pay, annual bonuses, and a LOT more money coming to me though my rate did not change. Ciber is not to be trusted.

    I worked at Ciber

    Pros

Hourly rate was fair, offered benefits including PTO

    Cons

How payroll was handled was a bit complex and caused confusion. Once placed as a contractor you get minimal contact from Ciber.
