I worked at Cimarron Software Services full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Cimarron picked us up in our then current positions after contract change. This happened several times since my start in Mission Control Center 7 July 82.

    Cons

benefits need to be improved severely

    Advice to Management

Due to reduction in force, my manager was released as well.

I have been working at Cimarron Software Services full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Small company, professional and competent HR and headquarters staff. Good pay, reasonable benefits. Good place for experience to build a resume.

    Cons

No growth, stagnant jobs for those working (24x7 rotating shift) aerospace contracts. I started in 1999 with no chance of promotion since, less than supportive local managers. Layoff after layoff after layoff. Morale is destroyed in the workplace. Employees are high caliber and dedicated to their craft, overworked and under supported.

    Advice to Management

Work hard on getting some real, professional local managers who know something about employee development and skills advancement. People are your only asset on a service contract, be more proactively supportive of their growth and you'll reap benefits with your customers. Establish a true plan to actually provide for employee futures. Stop demanding so much on the job in return for so little support.

    Pros

Marvin Triplett is a wonderful co/owner.

    Cons

    Bus Dev needed more structure.

    Advice to Management

Bus. Dev should be more hungry, Pay bus dev professionals based on the business they generate on top of a base salary. If you produce some work, you could earn 500K, if you do not you could earn 30K.

    Pros

DKI employees are salaried. We receive compensation even if we are between assignments. For those who like to travel, the corporate division travels 75+% of the time. For those who like to stick close to home, the government side of the house is where it's at.

    Cons

For those who don't like travel, there is a LOT and they weren't told about the frequency. Communication is sort of spotty. We hear a lot of plans but aren't included in the timeline.

    Advice to Management

Be truthful with employees and customers. Give ample warning to both if changes in the contract are coming. This isn't a static company but there is often enough time to plan exit strategies.
