    Pros

-Incredibly easy to get hired -Great people to work with for the most part -Free drinks and popcorn while working -50% discount on everything else while working -For the most part, management is mature and understanding (more on this later) -Very flexible hours -CEO is very competent and has real experience within the theater business -Good practice for Customer Service

    Cons

-At my location, our General Manager is rather incompetent, immature, and is all too happy to flex his power within the workplace. It's kind of funny that when we had a Regional Manager at our location for 6 months, he got his act together. However now that the regional is now gone, he's back to being his former self. He is inexperienced and the workplace would do much better with someone else in charge. -Organization is horrid. Nothing stays in the same place. -Bottom of the barrel pay (7.25/hr starting wage, non-negotiable) -You'll be lucky if you make it to 8.00/hr. Raises are up to 25 cents twice a year, and you'll be even more lucky to get a full 25 cent raise. Expect a 15 cent raise for your first raise. -Some employees that get promoted to management become abusers of their power. Not uncommon, but worth mentioning. -EXTREMELY high job turn over rate. New employees are not odd to see every month. -Be prepared to deal with rude customers and lazy employees, just like anywhere else. -Little to no room for promotions.

    Advice to Management

Watch who you promote to General Manager. One guy can ruin an entire workplace. The quality of this job would be so much better if it weren't for a power hungry man in the top position. I'm sure it is not like this at all locations, but keep an eye out for this.

    Pros

Strong company with lots of good people. Never gets boring. Movie industry changes every week. Meet all different types of people.

    Cons

Working weekends & holidays. Some weeks can be very long & busy. Vacation time is not during the summer. Fast pace & always working with the public.

    Advice to Management

Try to always reinvent yourself & be ready to change when change is needed.

    Pros

Great coworkers, employee evaluations every 90 days give incentive to work hard, easy to schedule time off as long as it is not on a holiday or a big release.

    Cons

I didn't find some of the managers to act in a professional way. Managers seemed to favor their co-worker friends instead of the hard working, dedicated individuals.

    Pros

Free movie tickets and meeting some cool co-workers

    Cons

Management didn't know what they were doing. They always claim they don't give people hours because of "budget cuts" but they have money to hire more people...doesn't make sense.

    Advice to Management

Pick good employees that will actually work and won't call out all the time. Pick better management.

    Pros

Great people and room for growth and relocation nation wide

    Cons

Acquired so many other companies lost its identity and does not pay very well for management below GM

    Advice to Management

Have a clear mission of mentoring your GM's with Regional managers held to a standard. More Regional managers are needed to make a positive impact on locations. Catch up with all of the other retail companies that offer better pay and benefits with less responsibilities.

    Cons

No weekend nights free and have to deal with teenage drama; have to be willing to move consistantly to be promoted with company

    Pros

Sometimes free movies, popcorn and drink.

    Cons

Management issues. Not good training...learning hands on but management expects no errors because of audit worries. In other words if you are new to the location and not familiar with the position and equipment yet...if you make an error there is no verbal education. Just straight write up and that is how they train you. Through write ups. Very very poor management. Also higher attrition as a result.

    Advice to Management

This should go to corporate and possible CEO then trickle down. The management needs to train employees better and not punish employees directly who are not yet familiar with systems, equipment, policies of Cinemark locations, etc... There should be a balance for that learning process aka positive reinforcement versus direct write ups. Also follow the proper disciplinary procedures. Being in management once myself there should be a verbal warning, written warning then write up. Not direct write up and movie privileges revoked on the first round. If you wish to keep employees then management needs to be improved.

    Pros

Lot of hours, mostly young high schoolers working there, laid back overall, open to working with you on hours, let you come back if you go away for college

    Cons

Late closing shifts (1-2am), low hourly pay, rude and messy customers, sometimes unprofessional drama in the workplace

    Advice to Management

Go above minimum wage, focus on keeping employees instead of a constant cycle of workers coming in and out,
