    Pros

They offer flexible hours and senior management is fair.

    Cons

They offer bottom of the barrel pay.

    Advice to Management

Hold more accountability to the lower tiers of management.

I worked at Cinemark part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Lot of hours, mostly young high schoolers working there, laid back overall, open to working with you on hours, let you come back if you go away for college

    Cons

Late closing shifts (1-2am), low hourly pay, rude and messy customers, sometimes unprofessional drama in the workplace

    Advice to Management

Go above minimum wage, focus on keeping employees instead of a constant cycle of workers coming in and out,

I have been working at Cinemark part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

This is the easiest job I've ever had. It doesn't matter whether you work box office, concessions, or as an usher, nothing about this is difficult. Things can get hectic around the holidays and with big name films, but it's still simple stuff. Some Theaters will be better or worse to work for depending on how good management and co-workers are.

    Cons

Corporate will bend or break nearly any policy if it means avoiding customer complaints. It can be frustrating to explain to a customer why something cannot be done only to have a manager override you because there was a complaint about something else entirely three weeks before, and they don't want to give anyone an excuse to send in another.

    Advice to Management

There's no point in making any policy whatsoever if you don't stick to it. Stick up for your employees first. In my experience as a customer anywhere I go, the ones who get - and deserve - good customer service are good customers. You have more to lose from pleasing bad customers than you do just letting them be angry about policy. That's how you show your employees that you don't value them, by letting such customers bully them and management until they get their way.

    Pros

Free movies, discount on concession food while working, lots of hours available, good part-time job, easy to get time off

    Cons

Low pay, hard to move up

    Advice to Management

Too many managers for concessions, so sometimes different managers had different rules.

    Pros

Fun High school job. Even when its busy its really not that stressful next to all sorts of other jobs. You get close to the people you work with and become good friends.

    Cons

Management takes themselves too seriously and this leads to punishment for silly things people do.

    Advice to Management

    Be happy

I worked at Cinemark full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The only real pro of working at Cinemark Theaters is that it provides a flexible schedule that caters to the needs of students. However, other than that -- there are no real pros.

    Cons

Life work balance is poor. Cinemark Theaters is open 365 days a year and requires all employees to work every holiday, even major ones such as christmas, thanksgiving, new years, and new years eve. There is pay and a half holiday pay, however, with wages so slow this hardly makes a difference. There is more emphasis on customers rather than employees. There are no major employee incentives. You get free movie tickets but there is a cap, limit, and time span in which you can use and retrieve them. Discount on food, but with prices so high the price is reduced to regular market price. Customer is always right and employees need to cater to their needs at all times, even when customers are at fault. Heavy intense workload with low pay. Pressure to never receive over time even when extra time is needed to complete work

    Advice to Management

Restructure the emphasis on employee wellness. Raise wages. Allow for better benefits and incentives for employees.

    I worked at Cinemark full-time

    Pros

Free movies, fun job. Under good management, you can learn a good work ethic, if you're out of high school. And you can get your friend and family in free.

    Cons

Had to transfer to become a gm. Not a good place to work if you have kids and family local. You have to move to make enough to support then, probably two or three times if you're the only source of income. And you can go above and beyond and work your butt off and put everything into the job, and get a new GM ( happens a lot) and none of it matters. I definitely feel like, in the long run, I worked really hard, was very dedicated, and the region leader didn't care in the least. In my time there, I worked under 6 GMs, averaging one per year, I feel like only two of them really cared about the theater.

    Advice to Management

Run a tight ship, develop your leadership skills. Otherwise, expect your best audit to be in the 80s. Also, keep your relationships with employees professional.

I have been working at Cinemark part-time

    Pros

For a first job it's really easy but that's all it should ever be. A first job in high school.

    Cons

    Customers can be really rude.

    Advice to Management

Be more professional. Don't choose favorites.
