I have been working at Circle K part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

I work graveyards at one particular store, and the job's not terribly busy for someone who's already nocturnal. It's quiet, mostly cleaning, and not all that hard a job. They do pay adjust for the shift, and you get $0.50 extra per hour for doing graveyard. All in all, not bad!

    Cons

Your hours are completely at the mercy of your manager, so unless you have a consistent manager, expect a crazy schedule.

On the same vein, my manager pays too much attention to new hires, driving some of the better people from the workplace, still expecting top-of-the-line service. It's a bit of a trick to get things right when you haven't been there more than two weeks total.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I have no advice for the upper management. I haven't had any experience with it, and I don't see any major issues with the structure of the work. Anything I do find cannot be fixed at your level, to be handled by the staff and lower management on a store to store basis.

I worked at Circle K part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

You get pretty good hours for part time pay. Your schedules can be very consistent if you have a good manager.

    Cons

The training before emoynent is terrible. You just have to read through these power points. My store was small so it was always a mess. Pay was very low. Longs hours and you couldn't sit down.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Show your employees a little more love. Clean up their work environments and fix your stores. Make management accountable for the mistakes made at store.

I worked at Circle K full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

easy learning curve, lots of stores, nice benefit for full-timers, room to grow, friendly atmosphere.

    Cons

pay for an assistant manager its not competitive. Training its not defined, very disorganized and messy.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Training should be adequate for the position, and pay should be higher for the amount of responsibility and work an assistant manager has.

    I worked at Circle K

    Pros

free drinks, as many hours as you want

    Cons

Management doesn't know what they're doing. I had another full time job that I had to be at at 7am. I worked at Circle K from 5-11. The night guy would consistently be late / not show up. The manager never knew what to do when I called. I was always working alone so I couldn't leave until the night person showed up. Management never stepped up to fill in or even seemed to care that I was going to have to stay all night until the 7am person showed up.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have people in charge that have some idea of what being a manager means.
